Well Rice is going to have to resign
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 05:55 PM by NNN0LHI
Before she is called into an open Congressional investigation by the Dems to have her more fully explain her 911 "traditional hijacking" statement and the PDB entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States" she received.

She will never allow herself to be questioned under oath about this stuff and without the Republicans controlling everything to protect her. She will never put herself in that jeopardy. She will have to walk away. Soon.

Don't forget her famous "mushroom clouds over New York" statement too.

Put a fork in her. She will be leaving before the end of the year.

17. She will use her office to hide
As a Private citizen she would be more vulnerable to being forced to testify. So I think she will hide behind Cheney (who will declare that he can't be made to come to congress) and will ignore congress. Then we will see if the new leadership has guts.

21. She's a weak link for this administration.
She was scared shitless during the 9/11 Commission hearings. I suspect that if serious investigations get rolling, she'll be lawyering up and negotiating her potential criminal sentence by dropping dimes, quarters, and dollar bills on the key players...Bush, Cheney, and Rummy.

42. Pleading the 5th
As Secretary of State (or any other office the President would appoint her too) she legally CANT plead the 5th ammendment. As a private citizen she can.

It means that the only way she can refuse to testify is to resign, or just refuse and go to jail until she does testify. If she is jailed for refusing to testify thats grounds for her to be removed as Secretary of State since she cant perform her duties in prison either.....so really her only choice would be to resign or start talking.

The great thing though, is that once she does resign she's out for good, because if Bush later tried to reappoint her in any capacity, and she started pulling another government paycheck she could be subpeoned again to testify again.

So you know, cross your fingers.........

Those are some of the most cynical and criminal words used in the conduct of government anywhere because she knew she was lying to the traumatized survivors of those who died and to an entire nation that needed accurate information. Resignation in disgrace...appropriate.

Once she figures out that there is no one to protect she'll probably have a melt-down when she testifies -- unless she's medicated.

53. I personally think that she will stick around for the show, Then resign.

She won't leave unless she Absolutely has to, her whole persona
is wrapped up in her position and yes, she is very stubborn - and frankly, not
that bright.
Then, IMHO, she will quit, skip off and make everyone scramble and jump
through flaming hoops to get her back for testimony, then plead the 5th.
and by the way, I think she has ice water in her veins, for what it is worth.
I hope she and the beltway boys are ALL losing a lot of sleep.
I keep seeing her leaning forward, bottom lip stuck out, blinking that sourpuss
stare.
