2. You don't even have a #2??
There isn't any potential out in the field you could get behind besides Gore? Gore is not a bad choice, but if that's the case, you need to open up your mind a bit.

3. Suppose you could at least wait until you see who's running?
Personally, I'm happy just watching what the new Majority does with their new found power.

Forget campaigning for at least a few weeks, PLEASE!!!!!

10. Candidate MUST show track record of reasonable spending and/or debt reduction!
Republicans are possibly going to go with Romney, who has just such a track record. Especially if Dems have a hard time getting things under control in the next two years, or cannot sufficiently satisfy the public desire for spending reduction and debt reduction, beating a charismatic guy like Romney will be tough. Obama might do it, as I think he is equally charismatic, and would pull a lot of centrists; but is Obama too inexperienced?

Lord, let us just please skip the farce of "electability"!!

Give me a Dem who shows CAPABILITY instead. Thanks.

12. My fantasy list
I said fantasy. Don't flame me about electability :)

  • Russ Feingold: Great guy, and I could say I grew up three doors down from the Prez.

  • George Clooney: Cuz he'd make the Freepers' heads explode.

  • Robert Reich: Smartest guy I've ever met.

  • Barbara Lee: My representative and a very impressive human being.

  • John Edwards: Not a super lefty, but he's talking about the right issues.

  • Al Gore: Not because I really want him elected, but because I want global warming front-and-center.

  • Richard Clarke: Want security from terrorists? This is your guy.

  • Eleanor Holmes Norton: We could actually give her something to do in government

  • Jed Bartlett: I did say fantasy, didn't I?

15. Pelosi/Obama
And then after Pelosi gets 8 years, Obama is next. First woman followed by first black. Obama for vice president of Pelosi so he can have some experience.

20. EDWARDS unless GORE becomes Available
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 08:21 PM by Wiley50
Edwards really gives a damn about poor and working people

His main deal is a new War On Poverty

That means a lot to people on disability like me

Of course Gore comes first

He got fucked out of the office he rightly won

Maybe

GORE/EDWARDS

or

EDWARDS/KUCINICH

I'll go with Molly Ivins on this one. I'd at least like to see him in a primary.

Kucinich
Boxer
Feingold
Gore
Jim McGovern

There may be more, but those are all that come to mind today.
