Does James Carville HELP Democrats by being on TV? HELL YEAH
His opinions about who should run what don't mean CRAP to the average person or voter and he has a right to them.

We shouldn't trash him because he has opinions on which strategy is better.

People HERE don't agree on which strategy is better for Democrats and we don't hate them, and almost nobody here except the ones who run or own DU contribute as much as Carville to HELP Democrats.

2. Horseshit. Carville is a coverup Democrat working for coverup Democrats.
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 08:53 PM by blm
Their job is to coverup for BushInc.

Clinton closed the books for Bush1 and they will work to assure that Hillary has the power to close the books on Bush2.

If the books were opened, poor little MRS. CARVILLE would also be ruined in the historic record.

4. But if he's going to be our spokesperson on tv, we don't need him showing off the infighting
or badmouthing our freakin' leader. He has his own agenda, and it's not necessarily beneficial to the Dems. He's more interested in being partisan within the party.

I mean, hell, I love John Kerry, but that doesn't mean I'm going to put down Clark or Dean or anyone else unless they specifically do something I don't like.

Carville is making our victory sound like a defeat, and that's just weird.

5. I don't think he has any particular ideology...
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 08:55 PM by Virginia Dare
neither does his wife, they're both just political whores, supposedly working on opposite sides. I abhor the so-called "operatives", I think they are a big part of the problem. They are no better than ambulance chasers. They stir up shit to create more work for themselves, they aren't working for "us".

8. Heck no he doesn't.
Not when he goes around trashing progressives, the chairman of the party, and the netroots. Oh, and that is about all he has been doing for the last eight years, that and telling us how we need to be more like the religiously impaired repugnants. He is a media annointed mouth and he does us no good at all. Carville is a back stabbing son of a bitch out for only one thing: Carville.

12. How the HELL does Carville "help Democrats" by constantly tearing down
..the one man who's done more than anyone to actually LEAD this fucking party in the last three years???

And Carville's not the only guilty one by any means. But he's definitely the biggest mouth of all who spew DLC talking points.

13. Have you read Woodward's book?
On page 344, Woodward describes the doings at the White House in the early morning hours of Wednesday, the day after the '04 election.

Apparently, Kerry had decided not to concede. There were 250,000 outstanding ballots in Ohio.

So Kerry decides to fight. In fact, he considers going to Ohio to camp out with his voters until there is a recount. This is the last thing the White House needs, especially after Florida 2000.

So what happened?

James Carville gets on the phone with his wife, Mary Matalin, who is at the White House with Bush.

"Carville told her he had some inside news. The Kerry campaign was going to challenge the provisional ballots in Ohio -- perhaps up to 250,000 of them. 'I don't agree with it, Carville said. I'm just telling you that's what they're talking about.'

"Matalin went to Cheney to report...You better tell the President Cheney told her."

Matalin does, advising Bush that "somebody in authority needed to get in touch with J. Kenneth Blackwell, the Republican Secretary of State in Ohio who would be in charge of any challenge to the provisional votes." An SOS goes out to Blackwell.

With friends like that, who needs enemies? I am frankly sick and tired of hearing both he and Rahm basking in their self-adulation---it's sickening. We've tried thier gig before and it got us NOWHERE really fast. Just my 2 cents.

That Carville is such a fucking traitor...no wonder he's married to a Republican bitch-on-wheels!

He ought to be strung up by his testicles, hung like a pinata, and batted to a pulp by a blindfolded Howard Dean!!

20. Why are you defending DLC corporate whore Carville?
What have Carville done past 6 months to help with Democratic Party and Dr. Dean with election? He hasn't done shit and here, he gets on the TV and bad mouth Dean. Carville hates Dr. Dean and he had his way, he would oust Dean and put DLC in place. His DLC way of 12 years is the reason we been loosing elections after elections.

28. "We shouldn't trash him because he has opinions on which strategy is better. "
That was your statement in the OP. Whether you think he helps us or not, there's no reason to tell the rest of us not to trash him when he's just done that very thing to someone most of us respect. Carville has no inherent privilege to insult and back-stab people we care about without getting lambasted here.
