I'm really tired of DINOs. I don't want Lieberman to be able to label himself a Democrat. Shouldn't there be a qualification process before the Democratic party will allow a politician to use their party affiliation? If so, what should the qualification process require?

1. Not running against the winner of a Democratic primary
should certainly be a qualification.

2. I certainly wouldn't use DU standards
I think there would only be about 5 Dem senators if we did that.

3. Protecting a woman's right to choose (ie, saving women's lives)
should be an absolute requirement.

6. How do you know that Lieberman didn't vote for Lamont?
If he voted for Lamont, then wouldn't that make him a supporter of the Democratic Party?

afford to vote for Lamont. However, there's probably no way that he could prove that he voted for Lamont.

8. i know i know. and the voter has to qualify to vote dem huh
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 11:52 PM by seabeyond
then you can have your little party all to yourself that all agree and are there with each. dont need any one to run that doesnt fit the bill nor anyone vote that doesnt fit the bill. an exclusive club. i havent pictured the dem party as exclusive in the past but why not, repugs were successful with it for a while

how will that go for you... i wonder

10. No, anyone can vote for anyone they want to. I just think too many politicians
call themselves Democrats but then don't accurately represent the platform of the Democratic party. If they don't agree with the platform, they should go to a party they do agree with or just be Independent. Otherwise, why even have a party platform? I never said anything about voters, you're putting words in my mouth.

11. How about if they decide, after losing the primary, that they don't
agree with the platform. Then they run as Independents. Already there would be some objections.

You make it sound as though Lieberman is engaged in something like a trademark violation. In fact, he's needed on the Democratic side in the Senate.
