What works better: pushing an idea on you, or leading you to want it on your own?
When an idea or action is pushed on someone, their natural instinct, natural reaction, is to push back. Its just how the human psyche works. If I tell you "Hey! I order you to stand up right now!" you simply will not do it, just to prove a point.

But if I say "Hey, how are ya? Have you checked your chair lately? Chairs loosen up, and if you haven't checked it recently, it might collapse on ya." There is a damn good chance you will stand up and check the chair, because I made you curious and you now WANT to stand on your own.

So, which is better:

1) IMPEACH BUSH NOW! EVERYONE SUPPORT US!
2) Hey, look! The republicans were actually committing way more crimes than we realized! What do you good people of America think we should do about it?

Yeah, I vote #2 also.

1. Bingo.
This is exactly the route I support. Let the election furor die down, let the Dems solidify their moderate support with some good, popular, no brainer decisions that please the people, than when the people are floating on cloud 9....reveal the damning evidence and say "Hmm.....lookee here America....what do you guys think we should do about it?"

2. It entirely depends...
...on what the idea is, who's pushing it and how inclined I am to accept the idea in the first place. For example, I'd probably be very receptive to the idea of having sex with some celebrity I've been obsessing over (I'm really not obsessing over any particular celebrity, though, I'm creepy for other reasons) if that celebrity suggested it. However, if that celebrity was Bob Keeshan, and the sex involved four dozen eggs in the middle of rush hour traffic, I wouldn't be inclined to accept it. No offense to eggs.

3. Since most people are totally uninformed when it comes to current events, the first step would be to
bring their criminal behavior and corruption into the reluctant MSM.
