A question about the Bolton issue.
Why does the Bush administration want Bolton in the UN so badly? When some of Bush's other cronies got drummed out in disgrace or lost their confirmation hearings, Bush and company were able to quickly find new assholes to replace them. Why isn't Bush doing that with Bolton? Is there something we don't know about Bolton?

1. Good Question
The only thing I know about Bolton is that he's a complete disaster and the last person on earth we want representing us in the UN. Maybe that's enough for *.

2. Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee
says he will not support Bolton's nomination in committee. Another loss for Bush.
See: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-clemons/lincoln-chafee-opposing-j_b_33743.html

"Word has just reached me from a well-placed source that the White House has continued to push John Bolton's confirmation prospects as US Ambassador to the United Nations despite the election outcome.

Another highly placed source has informed me that in just a few minutes Senator Lincoln Chafee is calling a press conference to state categorically that he will not support John Bolton's confirmation in the upcoming lame duck session.

The Bolton confirmation will be officially dead in a few minutes."

3. Glad to hear it, but...
I'm still wondering. Why can't Bush replace Bolton with another asshole. Why do they want Bolton so badly? It's not like there aren't 20 other neo-con assclowns in line to replace him, who haven't been under the spotlight enough to get a bad reputation yet.

This sets off my :tinfoilhat: alarm.

4. I don't think it's Shrub who wants him there. I think it's Cheney.
Bolton and Cheney have been close working comrads for a long time. Both of them are deeply involved in the dark side of this admin. I think this is anotherCheney trying to protect his buddies & secure the criminal activity info" situation. similar to what Cheney was doing with Rummy!

5. It could be PNAC protecting its own.
I just remembered that John Bolton's a member of PNAC, along with Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld and many other of the most sociopathic member of the GOP.
