1.  The fog of war/ friendly fire

The Pentagon estimates of U.S. friendly fire deaths, with percentage of total US deaths:

World War II: 21,000 (16%)
second-highest-ranking U.S. loss of the war, Lt. General Lesley J. McNair
snip
Vietnam war: 8,000 (14%)
Gulf War: 35 (23%)
Invasion of Afghanistan (2002): 4 (13%) *note* fatalities were Canadian Soldiers. Caused when a US fighter pilot dropped a 500 lb (228 kg) bomb while Canadian soldiers were performing a live fire exercise on April 17, 2002 <2>

3. People forget a few things...
One - Tillman was a striking figure - unmistakable at 300 yards. Absolutely recognizable to his guys.

Two - Unexpectedly outspoken and vehement as to his loathing for Bush. Hell, N. Chomsky was one of his heros!

Three - Army Rangers are among the most highly trained Soldier/Athletes in the military. They do not have poor eyesight. They do not get confused and disoriented in the field: They are the tested elite of our fighting forces.

Four - Three bullets to the forehead - a tight pattern.

This latest report, the fourth iteration of the coverup, IMO, is even more cynical and cruel than the first three. When his Mom and Dad are satisfied, I will be also, but not until then.

4. Yes. He figured things out once he was shipped to Iraq
And he knew that country had nothing to do with terrorism. He warned fellow soldiers not to vote for Bush. He was outspoken in his objections to the immoral wars, and kept a journal... That journal has not
been found, presumably destroyed along with his uniform and body armor after his death. Burning his body armor and uniform--suspicious much?

I believe he was murdered intentionally, possibly because he was the gov't's GI Joe war doll and poster boy. Then he turned out to be a sharp insightful man who evolved, and became informed, and changed his views against the war and the Resident, and was prepared to speak out.

2. I was reading about this the other day
It seems really weird. Almost as though they think somebody murdered Tillman -- they're clearly looking beyond mere confusion, poor communication and/or incompetence (e.g., fog of war). I can't imagine how this could have been deliberate. But I suppose freakier things have happened.
