Even his would-be supporters are angry at him for traveling around the country criticizing Massachusetts. He did nothing as governor, and now he's trying to play politics by witholding 400 million in budget money. :eyes:

31. My husband was presented an award by Romney and Healey |
|
a couple years ago (along with a number of his fellow firefighters). Romney had ZERO connection to these guys, it was so obvious that IRL he is not charismatic. He didn't even know enough to shake their hands, Healey had to get him started. I don't like Healey but she is definitely a lot warmer person than Romney could ever be.
He really is made for teevee.

Fundies ... when you try to talk to them, they shut their eyes, shaking their heads, put fingers in their ears & go nay nay nay nay nay nah nah ... I hate that when my own family and friends do that to me. They got brainwashed from those TV fundie preachers. To me, it's about CONTROL - MONEY - POWER by those fundie preachers - most of them are just fake. They cause mental ill in so many good people.

Were they mentally ill before they were brainwashed? After reading John Dean's book "Conservatives Without Conscience", I believe that many of these people with authoritarian mindsets are mentally ill, and the black and white thinking of fundamentalism appeals to their particular brand of insanity.

some Army guy who served a year in Iraq dishing out EVERY repuke talking point imaginable - including that he thinks the jury is still out on "whether Rumsfeld failed the generals or the generals failed Rumsfeld" and COMPARING RUMSFELD TO PATTON. I turned it off at that point - no fucking WAY could this guy be whoring in such a sickening fashion for free, there HAD to be some incentive for his insanity. (NOTE - a caller whined about how out of all the networks, ONLY FOX NEWS HAD THIS PUTZ ON. THERE'S A RED FLAG RIGHT THERE.)

reincarnated thing. We will win!!!!!!!!! When asked what win was he stammered then replied, we are making them love our freedom garbage. Btw, he also stated that we don't need anymore troops over there after one guy pointed out that Saddam needed 1/2 a million troops to keep the country from self destructing into civil war. Oh also Iraq is not going to have a civil war because its only 1/2 a % of iraqis that are dangerous.

22. Being a Catholic in the South |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-11-06 08:08 AM by LiberalPartisan
I've heard the 'you're not Christian' and 'Catholics worship statues' and 'Catholics believe only good works will get you in to Heaven' on plenty of occasions. People feel comfortable in their ignorance. Unfortunately the leadership of certain very popular denominations in the South feel compelled, for what reason I do not know, to teach lies about the Catholic Faith and thier duped followers feel compelled to spread them.

I am now an athiest, but until my early 20's I was a Catholic. I grew up in a dark blue area of Michigan and I still heard that stupid crap from fundie nuts. Keep alienating everyone, fundies. Keep dividing the support you have left so that you will never be in power again. It sure as hell will make America a better place.

and I have always voted for the Dems. I don't mix God and politics. I am pro-choice, pro gay marriage and I am quite comfortable with the way I vote. I am voting for ALL AMERICANS when I vote, not just myself. What is best for my fellow Americans? What is best for those who are poor? Which party does the most for civil rights? It is quite possible to be a Christian Progressive. My whole family and all of my friends are Christian Progressives. There are a lot of us out there. The Democratic Party just needs to tap into this fact. Be the party where all people are welcome, no matter how diverse we are.
