LTTE to my congress critter
Dear Congresswoman,

First off let me congratulate you on this well deserved victory for the people of the 53rd California District. It is time for a new day in America.

Now to the body of this letter. There is much to be done over the next two yeas. Indeed, this is not a sprint, but a marathon. I fully agree that we need to raise the minimum wage, and the rest of the 100 hour agenda. But thee is more. Yes, I am happy to see some of the olive trees but I need to address several points.

 The Military Commissions: That law needs to be reviewed and thrown out. It trampled over habeas Corpus, and the rights of the people. It also violates all kind of precedent national and international going back to Magna Carta.
 Election Security: We NEED a paper trail and we need the rights of the voters to be fully respected. Now to ID, a nice red herring if any, I get checked every time because I am an immigrant. Hell, I carry my passport every election. We want ID, fine, let me tell you how it was enacted south of the border. The ID is issued by the Federal Government, for a nominal processing fee, if any at all. The ID is updated every ten years, and it is not a poll tax. If they insist on ID (the Republicans that is) lets make it Federal as part of a full review of HAVA.
 The USPA, needs to be reviewed line by line, There are a few sections of it (FISA) that after careful review, may be able to stay in the books, but most of it NEEDS TO GO. It violates the principles of who we are as Americans.
 The Constitution is the guide to good government. If we, as Americans believe that the Constriction is primary and no man is above the law, then by golly we need to follow thought with it.
 The power of the purse and the committee need to be used, judiciously to bring the light back into government.
 Impeachment: I understand why the Future Speaker, or presumptive speaker, ahem took it off the table. Politically it may make sense AT THIS TIME, especially since I see the Democrats are skittish. Why? If history is a guide any Congress that has actually gone on and DONE IT, has lost seats in the following cycle, except one, Watergate. I know that technically the Articles were NEVER introduced since President Nixon resigned as soon as George H Walker Bush told him, they are going to do it. Here is the lesson of Watergate. It happened because we the people wanted it. In fact, the Democrats increased their lead in the following cycle. Impeachment may very well be on the table, as the people want it.
 Impeachment will paralyze the government: Only if you do not study history you’d buy that piece of crap, excuse my language. During Watergate the House was able to chew gum and walk a the same time. It will take discipline but it can be done.
 I need to remind you what Article II, Section Four says, and impeachment is needed so future Presidents will think twice about this. Why? One reason we are where we are is the lack of real consequences after Iran-Contra.

Enclosed you will also find a copy of the US Constitution. I believe that sadly everybody who works in DC needs to be reminded of what they take an oath to, and it is definitely not party, or person, but this document.

Sincerely,
