Marcus McTear was a star running back at Reagan High School in Austin, Texas. At 16, he was bright and popular and dreamed of college until a spring day in March 2003. The popular athlete stabbed his girlfriend, Ortralla Mosley, to death in a school hallway after she tried to break up with him. What had gone wrong? How did a boy with such pent-up rage escape the attention of parents and adults? As it turns out, Marcus had a history of teen dating violence a few years before, when he was dating an eighth-grade classmate named Rae Anne Spence.

And we have to drum this into our kids. We have to. This shit makes me sick.

2. I agree with you.

A related issue is alcohol abuse and how our society basically encourages it. Alcohol generally leads to disinhibition, often with bad consequences.

3. I was generally a happy drunk...

You know, the one that everyone makes fun of... "I LOVE you guys." :) BUT...it also occasionally made me prone to quick anger in the wrong circumstances.

I barely drink anymore. Occasionally when I go to a karaoke party. And I'm far calmer in general anyway.

But I definitely know what you mean. Alcohol was never my intoxicant of choice.
