Best Buy has announced they will be using "Happy Holidays" this coming Christmas shopping season, and they will not be using "Merry Christmas."

Dawn Bryant, a spokeswoman at Best Buy Co. Inc., says their advertising will not be using the term "Merry Christmas." "We are going to continue to use the term holiday because there are several holidays throughout that time period, and we certainly need to be respectful of all of them," Bryant said.

Happy Holidays and Season Greetings have been part of advertising for as long as I can remember.

As Best Buy mentions there are several celebrations during December and advertisers realize they cannot be exclusive.

The last few years of this war on Xmas crap is manufactured bullshit from Faux News and the radical RW to manufacture outrage within the ranks. This only shows their intolerance for anything that does not bow down to them and their fold.

it makes sense from a business perspective for a business to do whatever is least likely to offend people. People who don't celebrate Christmas might indeed to offended by people assuming they do. it is their company and they can use any holiday greeting they want. I buy most of my electronics from them and will continue to do so regardless of whichever term they choose to use...
