What are you gonna do now?

Hey Progressive Activist! You've just spent 100s of hours and 1000s of dollars to take back Congress. What are you gonna do now?

Disneyland? No thanks.

I'll be pressuring our new Congress to enact a real GI bill, taking care of the healthcare, college and housing costs for any Iraq war veteran that need it.

How 'bout you?

1. I want a Net Neutrality bill.
And for the next presidential election to be conducted on hand-counted paper ballots.

8. I've got Fein$tein and Boxer...
I've just about given up on Fein$tein -- I spent a few months trying to get Barbara Lee to run against her in the primary. I still bug Boxer regularly. She's not up for election until 2010, but I'm hoping she'll start being more responsive now.

9. I will first of all express
my belief that:

The election that brought in the Democrats was NOT about about them individually but about the will of the American people to set this country straight again. None of them better waste this opportunity by diddling the boys and girls or taking the dirty money. I don't expect this but to happen, but.

Then.........

1. Make tortured illegal

2. Bring back habeas corpus

3. Stop the closure of the EPA libraries - which is really access to chemical research needed by the public, academia, researchers and the EPA

10. None of that will happen unless we make them do it
I'm pretty burned out too, but after hearing a disabled vet on Randi Rhodes yesterday, I'm gonna drag my sorry ass back to my local moveon.org office and see what else I can do to help.

We may not want to hear it right now, but we just finished the easy part of this fight. Kicking out a bunch of incompetent criminals was a cakewalk compared to making the Dems grow a spine and live up to their promises.
