What if both Repub and Democratic non-nominees pulled a Lieberman in a Presidential race? |
|
Suppose those seeking the Repub and the Democratic Presidential nomination who come in second place both ran as independents. Would there be a chance that an independent would be elected President of the USA?

1. Either way we would end up with a president getting only 30% or so |
|
of the popular vote.
It might be a victory for those who support IRV or something similar.

Conneticut has a population less than LA or NYC. Joe was well known there, and many (apparently) did not give a hoot if he was Dem or Repub. I think it is bad when someone runs, loses, then goes on his own, or when someone from one party trys to stay in the party while openly endorsing the other. I use the word "bad" loosely - some things are badder than others. For example, it is good that Joe is with us warts and all.
