DEAN should not be replaced but if that is going to happen |
|
my choice would be John Edward. But he is going to run for President so he would never take it. So I would favor Mark Warner. Yeah I know he is DLC.....butputting a moderate face on the party when the liberals are going to run the House might be very sound political chess...

17. Dean's DNC just won a good, good battle, and Carville wants him replaced??? |
|
Not going to happen. Carville can wish his fool DLC head off. Still, it is an indication that the struggle between regular folks and the god damn DLC is not going away. The DLC is a cancer. Either it wins the whole body or gets excised.

4. Edwards wouldn't help. |

If the DLC manages to push out Dean they will be pushing out a lot more than just him. I guarantee that if the carville's of the Democratic party are able to dislodge him at least half a million voters go with him, myself included.

21. LOL! That's a LOT better. :) |

We'd really be right where we've always been, supporting candidates who reflect our values and political beliefs. It would be the party that has left us. If you were to dig deep into why most committed Democrats support the party you'll find its because of the basic human dignity it stands for. If the carville's of the world are able to take over that party and oust the man who brought it success, they'll be telling many of us they don't respect our values or our votes.
In my mind there's only one reason Dems won this election, because Howard Dean asked the voters of Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska for their votes. He sent people there who took the time to explain what Democratic values really were. Carville, Schumer and Emmanuel wouldn't have done that. When, all of a sudden, all these races turned our way, they would have been completely unable to take advantage of the situation. Without Dean today we would be asking why we couldn't win against a party that beats women, molests pages, steals our money and kills our children in made up wars.
I'd start voting Green, myself. I did it in this election when it came time to vote for senator. I couldn't pull the lever for stabenow after she supported the MCA. I will never support torture or the destruction of the Constitution. The DLC would have the party turn in her direction and in the process leave many of us behind.

the DNC Chair is supposed to be a bit of an attack dog. Dean is good at that, whereas it is not Mr. Congeniality's area of strength. Also, Dean has proven to be very good at organizing, early in the 2004 presidential Primary for example. Also good for DNC Chair, which has its administrative elements. Again, we have no indication that Edwards is strong in this area.
I adore Edwards, I half fell in love with him when I heard him talk about poverty and the two Americas, but I do not believe DNC Chair is the best role for him anymore than I believe POTUS is the best role for Dean.

10. Dean is not going to be replaced. |
|
If you listened to left wing radio you would know that he has support from the highest places in our party for the fine job he did this election. It's only the DLCers like Carville who need all that TeeVee exposure who are trying to plant this seed. I'm telling you I'm done with that DINO. We true Democrats will not allow Dean to be replaced.

13. Has Dean said he doesn't want the job? The grassroots Dems--the ones who vote |
|
for party Chair--are smart enough not to replace a winning performance.

I know he has never been a fan of Dean's but I wonder if that is because he and Begala are itching to get back in the game in '08 and want someone at the DNC who is a DLCer.

This is just Carville's fantasy. The DLC doesn't control the DNC from behind the scenes. The state party chairs have more clout in the DNC than the Clintonistas.
