The right wing sites are totally lost and totally depressed
You think they didn't get the message that Americans had enough of W, his tax policies for the rich at the expense of the poor, and his endless needless war.

Their days are over.

1. They are used to elections being stolen in their favor.
It gave them a false sense of superiority.

Of course - now they might work harder for 2008 - instead of becoming complacent.

Since Wednesday I've briefly visited freeperville several times, and I've never seen that site with such little activity. They are still in shock for the most part. I tried to post a thread there called "get over it", but they banned my ip a long time ago.

9. I was wondering what we were going to be like if we didn't win.
We lost three times in a row. It wasn't fair but I was not able to prepare myself for another loss. I am glad we are not the ones wondering what we did wrong this time. I hope the right wingers get over the idea that there needs to be more of what people voted against. How they can think that the problem is that they haven't taken the country more to the right is beyond me.

People rejected them, I hope they can learn from it.

They will not rest until they own us...

Forget what they can learn from us and our victory...We don't want them gaining power..they would only be using that power for a repeat of these past 6 years....They had power and blew it away...

10. Consider the fact that the right wing--and a radical one at that--
has controlled Congress for a dozen years and the presidency for six. Especially for young Republicans, the shift is very alien.

And on top of all of that, right wing media has dominated in the same time frame. For many who don't know any better, it probably seems as if the world is coming to an end.

13. Ideologues and fanatics tend to be psychologically rigid.
Their very narrow mind set doesn't give them much mental wiggle room, so they can't accept let alone adjust to set backs and, worse, defeat. So it's denial or rage or depression.

41. yes, that's Sherif's "Social Judgment Theory"
This communication theory says those who have high ego involvement (how integral an issue is in their lives) have a wide latitude of rejection. The latitude of rejection is sort of a measure of tolerance to different viewpoints.

The wide latitude of rejection means there is little "mental wiggle room."

I agree that its rage or depression.

14. GOOD. These are people who have defamed us for the last six years (and longer)
They have wished us dead, some even threatening to do the job themselves.

They have slandered us ("why do you hate America").

They have mocked us ("Get over it").

They are petty, porcine, vindictive, malicious, hateful, venal little beasts, and I hope they choke on their own despair.

They showed us no compassion; I have none to give them in return. Instead, I feel grim resignation for the massive salvage job they've left us after nearly destroying our country. Fuck. Them. All.

43. see my above post
They have slandered us ("why do you hate America").

Because they are not very cognitively complex, they often come up with simple explanations for criticism, like "why do you hate America."

The Not-so-Bright have been in charge for, as it was pointed out, 12 years now. It's time for the cognitively complex to dig us out of this mess.

FReepers Against Voter Fraud!
The whole point of this exercise is to get more conservative voters involved in changing the laws to close loopholes which make it easy to cheat, to promote the enforcement of existing election laws and to take part in the election process at the local level all with the goal of intercepting future fraud campaigns. In other words our goal is to STOP THE RATS FROM HIJACKING THE ELECTION PROCESS AND TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!

BWAHAHA! Suddenly these guys care about election integrity.

I read this post by one of the Freep types at another site I frequent - these guys absolutely refuse to get it!! If they would turn off their precious Faux News or Hannity or Rush for 5 seconds, they would realize that voting reform is one of the key points the Democrats are emphasizing. It just pisses them off to know that we want to COUNT EVERY VOTE, no matter who actually casts it, and that a record exists of that vote that can be re-tabulated.

44. This has to be the best analysis I've seen on the right
"When the Republicans had the majority the minority would not let them get hardly anything through congress."

Soooo, the minority Democrats managed to keep the majority GOP from doing what it wanted?

What kind of a world do these right-wingers live in that makes them think that makes any sense at all, even inside the Beltway where natural laws of gravity don't apply?

They had control of the government for six straight years. They ran roughshod over the Dems, the American people and the COnstitution they all swore to observe and uphold. And now they complain that they didn't go far enough?

My mind is officially boggled.

47. Rush Limbaugh used to tell them this all the time. Somehow the minority Dems were so powerful
that they stood in the way of the Republican Congress, Republican Senate and the Republican Executive branch. Rush needed to give the dittoheads a reason as to why every little thing the conservative base wanted wasn't enacted. (Like a national abortion ban or a ban on illegal immigration.) The only bad guys available were the Dems. The fact that most people support abortion rights in general and the fact that NAFTA officially opened the borders to both job flight out and immigrant movement in (to depress wages) could not be talked about. It had to be the Dems. The fact that the Dems didn't even have the power to get a room to have an unofficial hearing on something went right over the freepers' heads.
