Things that can bring Progressive Democrats and Blue Dog Democrats together
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 12:53 AM by ck4829
The Republicans are trying to tear us apart, unofficially destroy our new majority even before it happens.

There are some things that ALL Democrats seem to show unity on.

1. Oversight of the Bush Administration

2. Investigations into just about everything that has happened during the last 6 years

3. Workers rights

4. Health care

Other issues may be difficult, but these 4 are what I can bet that we will stay united on.

2. That's What I Kept Yelling At Tucker The Other Night
As he kept boviating about Harold Ford, Jr professing his Christianity & Bob Casey, Jr being pro-life. "Your party stinks so much, Tucker, that NANCY PELOSI and JOHN TESTER can actually find COMMON GROUND. Their HATRED of YOU and your STUPID CHOICES IN NECKWEAR."
Man, its fun being in the Majority again.

3. That's basically Six for '06
Which was Nancy Pelosi's straegy for winning. It included what you're talking about, plus implementing 9/11 commission suggestions. Specifically minimum wage, prescription drug negotiation, student loan interest, stem cell research, alternative energy. Then they put pay-go back and pay for any other programs, including health care reform, and save social security.

7. I think as long as we advoid social issues
Like limits on abortion, hand gun restrictions and the nortorious constanitutional adment to ban gay marriage we should be fine.

9. it's not so much avoiding them
It's prioritizing them.

I was pissed off when the partial abortion ban and the baseball/steroid hearings were taking valuable legislative time in Congress. The partial abortion ban was a fake issue and the baseball/steroid hearings amounted to an illegal shakedown of baseball players. Take a look at what happened and the people selected for the hearings. Mark McGwire, Curt Schilling, Rafael Palmeiro...
Run all of the names through opensecrets.org and you see that it was a shakedown.
Rafael Palmeiro got caught later with a positive drug test and nothing other than a light suspension happened to him. Again, look up the names in opensecrets.org

These issues taking priority piss me off on account of that people are losing jobs, are getting squeezed by banking institutions, and are losing homes.
