Issues for the new Congress
Nancy Pelosi has talked about the minimum wage, health care, the Iraq war
and other issues as being top priorities for the new congress. Election reform should also be a top priority.Mainly scraping the Diebold and other electronic voting machines and replacing them with a voting system that voters are confident with and has some sort of vote verification in place.

1. Screw the banks and credit card companies
Return the bankruptcy laws to their pre-Bush status.

Eliminate the "personhood" of corporations.

Make paid lobbying a federal crime with mandatory sentences like the Rockefeller drug laws.

Okay, okay, I know none of that is going to happen, but one can wish, right?

2. You did touch on an issue that has to be dealt with
and that is the issue of bank loans or credit comapnies. The very low mortgage rates offered by lending companies had nothing to do with the robust economy. They were offered by design. Consumers were set up and fell into a trap. A very Republican type favor that certainly gained them loads of cash..
Most of those low rates were flexible and now the loan companies are reaping record profits with interest rates nearly 30- 50% higher than the original loan The maximum interest rate increase to loan shark heights and now many consumers realize they have been had, thanks to the Republican tinkering with the truth in lending laws.No it didn't make the news but was the fine print hidden in the bankruptcy law.
