"I didn't want to inject politics into the campaign."
Hmmmmm. . .
This was of course his alleged reason for pretending that Rummy would be staying on.
Campaign-n-2. a series of organized planned actions for a particular purpose, as for electing a candidate-vt-to participate in , or go on a campaign
Politics-1. the science and art of political government: political science 2. political affairs 3. the conducting of or participation in political affairs, often as a profession 4. political methods, tactics, etc; sometimes specif., crafty, or unprincipled methods 5. political opinions, principles or party connections 6. factional scheming for power within a group.
Riddle me this: Just exactly WHAT is a campaign comprised of that DOESN'T qualify as political in nature and wouldn't that be inclusive of fundraising, stumping, kissin' babies, and promising stuff, and the like. . .???
So isn't an apolitical campaign an oxymoron and a complete impossibility. . .?
I really shouldn't let this sort of stuff bother me anymore but it's still baffling that * gets away with this nonsense continually. Or is the genius in this somehow alluding me?
Ughhh

1. This reminds me of a delightful quote by some Canadian politician |
|
a few years back. I can't remember who it was, but I believe it was a female Tory: asked a pointed policy question, she answered something like "A campaign is no time to talk about policies!" She was serious, too.

It's akin to how they arrogantly and haughtily say, "I don't pay attention to polls." TRANSLATION: We don't give a quail's tail about the will of our constituents.
Or when * is confronted with an opposing view and he just responds dismissively by saying, "It's just politics."
WTF ??? He might be pRes but he's still a politician and politics is sort of his job, to say nothing of the fact that he took an oath to not trash the constitution.

2. One thing we can be sure of |
|
is these guys will never tire of feeding the people shit sandwiches. The other component would be the rash lameballs of the world telling their flock that those sandwiches taste really swell and they're nutritious too.

4. Everyone knows what he meant... |
|
He didn't want politics and policies to get in the way of Republican smears. Why have voters talking about Iraq, health care, Social Security, etc. when you can have them discussing wheter or not Ford dates white women?

5. I think he has finally come to terms... |
|
... with the fact that he is a booger-pickin' moran, and he is beyond caring who knows it at this point.

10. Here's how you interpret that comment. |
|
"I made a deal with my daddy that if the R's kept the senate then I could keep Rummy and twitter on about mandates, but if we lost the senate I was going to have to throw rummy under the bus and behave myself"
