BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A pair of suicide bombs ripped through a crowd of would-be
police recruits in Baghdad on Sunday, killing at least 35, and authorities found
75 bodies in the capital and Baqouba, an unusually high number even by Iraq's
grim standards.

In a further sign of the sectarian strife, security forces in Baghdad found 25
bullet-riddled, handcuffed bodies dumped in several parts of the capital, Lt. Maithem
Abdul Razzaq of the city's Yarmouk police station said. In Baqouba, 35 miles northeast
of Baghdad, 50 bodies were found dumped behind the offices of the provincial electric
company, according to the Iraqi army's provincial public affairs office.

Most such bodies are the victims of sectarian fighting and often go unidentified.
Investigations are rarely carried out and the killers usually remain unknown.

1. So damned frustratingly sad and tragic....
"What we've got here is failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach...
So, you get what we had here last week,
which is the way he wants it!
Well, he gets it!
N' I don't like it any more than you men." *

Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land

And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war

Look at the shoes your filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more

My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

"We practice selective annihilation of mayors
And government officials
For example to create a vacuum
Then we fill that vacuum
As popular war advances
Peace is closer" **

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
I don't need one more war

I don't need one more war
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway

2. This is the work of US death squads
Newsweek reports that the US Pentagon is considering an El Salvador strategy in Iraq, of forming Iraqi Special Forces units to engage the Iraqi guerrillas. In Central America, this sort of policy produced death squads that killed leftists (and sometimes nuns) indiscriminately.

July 24, 2005- New US Ambassador "Death Squads Negroponte" arrives in Iraq.

December 13, 2005- Memo reveals death squads run by Iraq Ministry of Interior. "The minister is very upset. He wants to know how such a document slipped out of the ministry."

March 2, 2006- Many of the death squads work for the Ministry of Interior. Who runs the Ministry of Interior in Baghdad? Who pays the Ministry of the Interior?

May 8, 2006- Interior Minister Bayan Jabr said Sunday that an officer and 17 other persons had been arrested among the special police commandoes of the ministry and charged with running death squads. This announcement is the first official confirmation that the death squads were being run out of Interior, as many charged.

Sept 1, 2006- More somber proof of the rise in death squad activity came from the Baghdad Coroner's Office. Their data showed 1,600 bodies arrived there in June and more than 1,800 bodies in July. 90 percent of those deaths were determined to be the result of death squad executions.

Sept 4, 2006- Authorities found 33 bodies of people who had been shot to death, all showing signs of torture, dumped around several neighborhoods in Baghdad, police said. The bodies, all of men, were blindfolded and their feet and hands were tied.
