A big statewide office upset in Wisconsin. Go Dawn Sass!
Dems lost the Ag office in a tight contest in Wisconsin but check out this unexpected victory:

Dawn Marie Sass was almost giddy Wednesday morning, but who could blame her?

She had just been elected the Wisconsin state treasurer, upsetting a Republican who had held the office for 12 years, the same man she had failed to unseat twice before.

...

Sass said she spent about $4,000 on her campaign, much of it out of her own pocket.

That paid for a few yard signs - many of them in the front yard of her parents' south side home. She personally collected almost all 2,200 signatures on her nomination papers and went anywhere she was invited, to corn roasts and county fairs.

1. Very cool
I didn't know anything about her, but a lot of us voted a straight Dem ticket this time so that must have helped. I've heard good things from people who have met her.

4. That is gutsy
Then again ONLY A WOMAN can be a one person grassroots organization that is powerful to elect.

5. Dawn has run every election for many cycles
This time was her time.

She has good experience with several organizations in Milwaukee and is just a nice person too.
