Maybe it's time to recognize
there is confusion over impeachment here. What it is, what it entails, what some leaders mean by impeachment is off the table, etc. It's time to get clarity from someone, especially when they say "impeachment is off the table". I intend to ask my congressman. I can tell though, if there is no real effort for accountability (investigations leading to articles of impeachment), I stand with impeachment because I put the constitution and its foundations above other considerations including future elections fears. No arguing can possibly sway me, even though, I will try to tone down my posts out of respect for others.

1. It means that investigations will come first.
Is my understanding. But naturally, they find may lead to something else.

2. Investigations, accountability, and restoration of the Constitution are
essential if this once-Republic is to be restored as is extricating the US from Iraq with the least possible future damage to this country and Iraq. :patriot:

3. If our party lets Bush and Cheney get away with their war crimes,
it will be the end of all the work I do to get them elected.

I want those two to rot in jail.

5. Once you've given up on the Dems for that, I recommend you buy a knife.
You know, to cut off your nose to spite your face.

8. If any offenses remain after impeachment,
then after office, they can be pursued.

9. the disassembly of the no-bid crony contract 'black water' war profiterring...
machinery will generate much, much evidence toward just that end; but i do believe that that must be done first = stop all war profiteering NOW!, stop their profiteering upon death, spilled innocent blood, chaos & destruction in the name of America: in the name of us; me! you!

but it has to start somewhere; therefore disassemble the republican/neocon war machine, by doing so you'll gain much insight into just who has built & maintained it, they will be your additional war criminals imo

7. Can what's 'off the table' be put back on, and under what circumstances? That is the question.

10. Exactly. That defines the concern and the arguments here.

All impeachments begin and involve investigation. So saying there will be investigations, and oversight, doesn't mean impeachment if there are crimes. Especially when combined with a definitive "impeachment is off the table". It doesn't really mean anything at all without further explanation. Do not assume anything.
