Personally, I'd rather we run the government than some perpetual campaign. |
|
Come January, we've got two solid years of legislative control and I'm looking forward to it. That's the whole point, no?
Just passing through this afternoon, but that's my 2 cents.

errr...NO! NO! NO! NO!
At least PART of the point MUST BE JUSTICE!!!!!
If we do not pursue JUSTICE with the power we now have, then we have missed the point!!!!
IMPEACH THE ENTIRE BUSH CABAL/REGIME OF THUGS
AND DO IT NOW!!!!!!!

3. I think fixing the system so it can't happen again is more important than revenge. |

When someone steals your wallet, is it "REVENGE" to have him go to court???
Bringing Bush and the rest of his thug/cronies to JUSTICE is NOT REVENGE!!!
It is JUSTICE!!!!!
And of course -- FIX THE SYSTEM -- BUT PURSUE JUSTICE!!

11. I'm not against seeing these pricks brought to justice |
|
It's what they deserve. But I don't see how "justice" can being done without any steps being taken to prevent this happening to future generations. How is it "justice" if we knowingly leave a weaker system of government to our children? That should be priority number one. Seeing these pricks in jail is a bonus.

4. Am I to believe that everyone who voted for the Democrats... |
|
...did so specifically to impeach Bush*?
I mean, you say that's "the point".

Of Course!!
NOT!!!
But MANY OF US Did!!
And MANY of us think that one of the "points" was to bring JUSTICE to a thoroughly corrupt REGIME that ILLEGALLY launched a WAR OF AGGRESSION, resulting in the deaths of thousands (if not millions) of people!!!!
That, of course, was NOT the only reason many of us voted for Democrats.
But it WAS a VERY important reason -- and a REASON WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE LOST in a "Go along/Get along" approach to the power we not have!!

7. Some Notes from a Frist email |
|
Regarding the mud slinging attack on Ford -Frist says..
""In the midst of this nation "wave" of voter anger. Tennessee was a breakwater against the tide. In Tennessee, our Republican party succeeded in electing Bob Corker to the Senate because he was the genuine article. A conservative Tennessean, a family man, successful businessman and a man of principles. the campaign message we carried across the state was crystal clear and stuck ot our Conservative principles. As our Republic Party thinks about a way forward, talking a closer look at the success in Tennessee would be helpful.""
Oh boy wasn't this republican a man of principles...dang de dang
Another paragraph
""the ACCOMPLISHMENTS of the 109th congress simply could not break through and we were not able to communicate clearly the principles for which we stand: smaller federal government, fiscal disciple, lower taxes and a strong and vigorous national defense.""
Now get the above they stood for a smaller government, fiscal disciple, and a strong and vigorous national defense...dang de dang again.
Last paragraph
""Today, the Democrat leadership is pledging to work in a bipartisan way with President Bush and Republicans. I'd love to believe them, but my guess is that their actions over the past years speak louder than their words of today. I will be watching and I know you will. If Democrats had set aside partisanship we could have worked together to pass an amendment protecting the American flag, pass the Child Custody Protection Act, confirm additional Circuit Court Judges, confirm John Bolton repeal the unfair Death tax enact badly needed medial malpractice reform and the list goes on."""
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the republicans have a majority, couldn't they have passed all these things. Except confirm Bolton which the democrats threatened to filibuster. Can you believe the lies and collusion of this republican party...AND THEY ARE THE ONES WHO PROMISED TO BE BI-PARISIAN WHEN BUSH STOLE OFFICE.

That's the "new rule" definition of bi-partisanship. You are only bi-partisan if you go along an vote for every radical idea they present. We should use the same definition.

10. If we run the government properly, it WILL be a campaign in some sense. |
|
The task before us now is to demonstrate the value of Democratic leadership. Good legislation designed to make Americans' lives better -- we now have the power to put sensible, practical, Democrat-authored bills on the floor and call a vote.
That's half our campaign right there, if not more.
Show the voters that Democrats are on the job and working to make a difference, and all our 2008 candidates will benefit. Even if the RepublicOns, including the "president," do nothing but whine and moan and get in the way.
As for the question of investigating the Bush-Cheney administration... well, we can walk and chew gum at the same time, can't we?
