No wonder why people who watch Fox are so screwed up. It was almost
like the German radio broadcasting about all those great victories
in Russia.

No slam on our troops who fought there but how in the hell do they
get away broadcasting such outright lies?

BTW for those interested @ the end of 1972 Nixon signed the exact same
treaty that the communists offered in 1969 to him. Only difference was
all the more bodies and costs.

Not unlike our current mess in Iraq ..... when do admit that it was a lie
and staying longer will not make it any better or bring any of the fallen
back to life?

21. AlLL wars are ultimately lost on political grounds. The war is a means to achieve

a political end. It either succeeds or fails. Winning battles or losing them does not always directly determine the outcome.

One of the big problems in this one is there doesn't seem to even be a defined political objective anymore. The idea of a democratic, self defending, self sustaining Iraqi government in the Western mold seems to be either a ridiculous pipe dream or so far off as to be not worth it to the average American.

If there are other goals to be achieved, such as controlling oil assets or building bases for a permanent strategic military presence in the region, they are either denied or kept secret from the American citizenry funding this war.
