Stumbled across this today. The article goes back to October 18, but I did a search and didn't see any mention of it on DU in the past month, and since this continues to be a subject of curiosity.....

Florida authorities say photo isn't of Gosch

Last August, two photographs showing boys bound and gagged were left on the West Des Moines doorstep of Noreen Gosch, Johnny's mother. It sparked hope that police could finally determine what happened to Johnny Gosch, who was 12 when he disappeared in 1982 while delivering newspapers in West Des Moines.

On Tuesday, a Florida investigator said he had located a man who was photographed 28 years ago with two other boys bound and gagged on a bed. The photo matched one left on Noreen Gosch's doorstep.

The man said he knew the other boys in the photo and neither was Gosch, according to Nelson Zalva, a retired Hillsborough County, Fla., investigator. Zalva first investigated the photos in the late 1970s -- years before Johnny Gosch went missing.

Zalva said he reached one of the men, now 40, who said Johnny Gosch wasn't pictured in the photo. He said he and the two boys agreed to be bound and gagged by a man in exchange for firecrackers, Zalva said. No charges were filed in the case.

Zalva said he's still looking for the two other men pictured in the photographs, which he said were taken when Johnny Gosch was about 8 years old.

2. I don't believe them.

The detective that says this doesn't have any hard proof that it's not him. They are ignoring Noreen Gosch again on her case. Have any of you looked at her site lately? She has posted very scary pics on their of boys that no one know of their whereabouts. Some of them were found on a pediphile website and when she contacted the fbi about them, they won't return her calls. I would like to know why federal agents don't care that missing kids are on a pedophile website.
