Texas Town Considers Anti-Illegals Bill

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas - This Dallas suburb could become the first city in Texas to adopt a sweeping ordinance intended to keep out illegal immigrants, a cause for concern among its large minority population.

More than 50 municipalities nationwide have considered, passed or rejected laws banning landlords from leasing to illegal immigrants, penalizing businesses that employ undocumented workers and making English the local official language.

But until now, that trend hasn't been matched in the Lone Star State.

"This is the first town in Texas that had the guts to do what's right," Susie Hart, who grew up in Farmers Branch, said during a recent demonstration outside City Hall. "The education system is tanking, health care has gone through the roof, everybody is bilingual."<snip>

They're firing people who "only" speak English, yet the Hispanics are hired even if they only speak Spanish. It's not fair to hire one race of people who aren't bilingual, over another race of people who aren't bilingual.

It's only common courtesy for those who come to the USA to learn the language that most Americans speak. If every group of immigrants (white, brown, black, or purple) refused to learn English, we'd have a new Tower of Babel.

Yes, I've been reading about this.

And someone spray painted "VIVA MEXICOS" on the mayor's house. Only problem is, it should read "VIVA MEXICO" not MEXICOS. So whoever did it doesn't even KNOW SPANISH.

Which made people in the Dallas area suspicious that someone on the anti-illegal side actually did it, to stir up more hatred. Wouldn't surprise me in the LEAST.
