I don't want LIEBERMAN to have the Dems in the Senate by the short hairs!!!!! |
|
Anyone from Conneticut know if there is a process that can recall a Senator. They recalled the governor in California. I am hoping that there is a process to do so. It should be prepared and ready to go. If the bastard stabs us in the back (again), the voters of Conneticut would have recourse and of course would have national support.
If anyone knows how to find out, could you let me know,
Thanks and your comments are appreciated.

2. I don't think there's much of such a process |
|
and chances are Joe's not going to matter as much in January and February as people imagine right now.
I think he really matters more as demonstration of Democratic disunity, and toleration of right wing corruption, about I/P.
The game is to get his vote for Harry Reid. After that I think Republicans are sufficiently difficult to unite, if at all, that his vote can go the other way- we'll get Specter's, or Snowe and Collins, or some other or bunch of others' vote on the important stuff. At times it may be more profitable to lose, with Lieberman defecting to the R's, and they taking the political hit for their stances.

6. Shhh...You're Making Too Much Sense |
|
We need to anguish here...emotions before rational thought.
I agree with what you say 100%. All I care is that Lieberman votes for Reid as Majority Leader...from then on he can pound sand.

10. What scares me is that he could threaten to switch at any time |

and thereby tip the balance.

3. That would take a Constitutional amendment |

States can institute recalls for state offices, but not for offices in the U.S. Congress.

4. Someone kick this guy out of the party... |
|
Its obvious hes the most self-centered and greedy person in politics right now... seriously. How spineless can you be to lose a primary, than run against your own party as an independent, take money from the GOP, win, and then claim you're still a Democrat... and to top it off, his entire agenda is ultra-conservative and right in line with the Republicans...
How does a guy like Joe Lieberman appeal to middle of the road Connecticut voters? Where I'm from, everyone jokes that people from Connecticut are a bunch of stuck up, snot-nosed individuals that don't know how to drive. (I'm from New York by the way). I would hate to think that they also have a thing for electing jackasses as well...

7. This Connecticutian thanks you for your kind words about my state. |
|
I could bring up, of course, some of the truly repulsive and atrocious behavior I've observed with various New Yorkers, but I'm not one to generalize an entire state based on a few assholes.

at the characterization of Nutmeggers, and I don't even live there- though in full disclosure, I confess to being brought up in that state.

11. if lieberman who is now a loose cannon ball breaks rank with the democrats on any votes |
|
and joins the republicans, the vote count will be 50-50 and cheney will be called in to cast the tie breaker.
and from the man who stood on the floor of the senate to berate clinton's private business with monica lewinsky, to the man who took republican money to keep his carcass in the senate ... a man without a rudder, or seemingly without any convictions other than joe is me and me is joe and i shall reign ... anything is possible.
