Fix election fraud first! Before impeachment, Iraq, corruption, everything! |
|
Safeguarding democracy is paramount. Everything else is predicated on it. Just because they didn't quite succeed this time, we are not allowed to forget this!
No more unelected preznits, reps!

5. I agree, why wait until the next election to fix the problem. |
|
Outlaw voting machines (except for handicapped) and start using paper ballots.

We need a simple, fair, transparent and accurate process from registration to counting.
Without accurate election results that can be verified and accepted by all candidates, democracy cannot function properly, and citizens lose confidence in the system.
Congress should definitely focus on this issue as a matter of urgent priority.
Hopefully they can also look at other issues at the same time.

9. BINGO - the only way to fix it is to get more people participating in |
|
the process.
After being actively involved this recent election, along with some of my other friends, there is no doubt in my mind that our participation is demanded that day.
I encourage everyone to become a citizen auditor of elections and/or a poll worker.
We need to be having more nationwide citizen audits/parallel elections. They are vital ways to audit the results coming in at polling places and people are very responsive and interested in taking part.

13. Hey, multitasking is the name of the game ! They can impeach, . . |
|
. . . and mandate paper ballots + other changes we already KNOW must be made if we are to being to have confidence in our election.
. . . and bring together the stakeholders (with We the People being first and foremost) to figure out what we must do to rebuild a functional and vibrant press.
. . .and pass minimum wage . .
. . .and move toward single-payor healthcare. . .
. . .and . .
With their trusty staffs, they should be able to walk, chew gum, and juggle for goodness sake!

15. Kill the machines....... |
|
How? I know, at the county level. Go there and demand to see the machines and show your sledge hammer and tell them you are there to kill the machines.
OK, I am kidding, but - get involved and check see which machines they have. If they aren't optiscan paper ballot types then find out how you can get involved in your county or state. If the legislature is all Repuglican then find the Democrat activists and get involved.
This movement cannot fade away because of the flush of victory. We should have had more House and Senate wins. Don't kid yourself. They were stolen - here, there and almost everywhere. We should have had more. This was not a wave - it was a tsunami!

16. I would never recommend opticscan paper ballot types |
|
of machines - We need paper -- Pure and simple
marin County has optiscan ballots.
You as a normal citizen are never ever going to be able to tell a single thing about any election UNLESS you win the lottery (in which case you can afford the exorbitant amounts of money required by the Registrar of Voters there)
Yep there are paper ballots to prove the proof behind the final tally. But most ROV's do not roll over and offer these to citizens.
I personally feel that Marin County's vote for Kerry should have matched Sonoma County's to the north - why was liberal Marin voting for Kerry at 72% and more conservative Sonoma voting for Kerry at 82%. The optiscan ballots in the end are counted by machines. Although the ROV knew that there was at least one hole in the security of those machines, he did not bother to install the security patch.

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer an all paper, all hand count system and I don't care how long it takes.
But at least with optiscan you have a paper ballot that can be audited away from the optiscan counter and tabulator.
I support "repeated redundancy" (yeah, I know - that's redundant) with groups of hand counters and hand tabulators doing their thing a number of times.
I believe where the will to clean up and secure these elections is strong enough, the people will find a way to fix things.
The people eventually get it right.

19. IMO: Clean Elections = #1 |
|
Hand Counted Paper Ballots! Paper ballots printed by an entity OTHER THAN one of the election-rigging companies. NOT ballots printed by voting machines which may freeze up, get paper jams, leave candidates and issues off the ballot, not even boot up, etc. ad nauseam.
Paper ballots must be thoroughly checked and OFFICIALLY APPROVED by election officials WHO WILL BE HELD PERSONALLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR ERRORS OR CANDIDATES LEFT OFF THE BALLOT!
Corrupt election officials MUST be held accountable.
... and Propagandized Media = #2

21. YES YES YES... its becoming increasingly obvious to me that this election was "allowed" to happen... |
|
Neocons had grown disgruntled with George's sorry performance as CEO-in-chief. As one of them stated recently "this is not an election, its an intervention." I dont know what they were expecting out of someone who's resume included several failed businesses... but they had to eventually face up to the fact that their guy is incompetent.
Military were fed up as well. Evangelicals were fed up. Ordinary center and right voters were fed up. Just wasn't the degree of enthusiasm necessary for a wide scale election theft.
So gotta use this 2 yrs most wisely, shrewdly... It may be a small window of opportunity...
