Yeah, I know there's other threads, but I don't think you can have too many about this cuz it's so damn funny (And my headline is better!)

Is there an ideological divide between the hard-line puffed advocates and the more moderate crunchy fans?

Edited on Tue Nov-14-06 02:58 PM by happydreams
*&^ off at Sentinel Chickens hypothesis I have given this considerable thought. Based upon my previous observations of Repug awareness levels I conclude that Cheetos, something, I humbly admit, I've eaten myself when I get the urge to block my arteries, are a tactile level (Repuggies highest) stimulant (crackly, and cheezy tasting) and there is no apparent foreign derivation of the product--a most important consideration of xenophobes. Doritos for instance have a Latin American slant, while "The Frito Bandito" excludes Fritos snack from a true patriots menu. We've all seen the Right's reaction to French Fries due to French opposition to our splendid little disaster in Iraq. What's odd is that cheese is to France what Spaghetti is to Italy and this should send up red flags amongst the red-- staters and put Cheetos on the banned list. But then they, as we all know, are, first and foremost, hypocrites and would find some way of excusing this unpatriotic behavior as well.

I'm sure there are other underlying reasons for this particular fetish but I am laughing to hard to think of any more.

I don't even know where to start. The number of facets to this thing.

Having watched FR.
Having been under the thumb of this administration.
Having seen the real anthrax killer go free.
Having just won.
Having the smile on our faces grow each day.
Having been correct about everything.
Having no one effectively hearing us.
Having loved this country.

Why do they hate America?
And why is the liberal press demonizing all conservatives 24/7 regarding this man? Oh...er...I mean, why isn't this getting any real coverage?

Yep, Pelosi is our woman. This proves it.

PM me or whatever if you want copies. The post he made commenting on Schumer's white powder letter is the most important one--if he makes any statement to the effect that he was unaware of the letter sent to Schumer, that post disproves it. Also, he said in one of his FR posts that he posts in Compuserve's Politics forum under the username sontarrin.

57. I know, that's why I don't take it personal
For one thing, I'm not a fucking freeper, nor am I a wannabe terrorist. When political developments upset me, I write letters, or visit Congresscritters, or freeway-blog.

But I am an unemployed "loser" who lives @ mom's. The shaming I've gotten for it over and over and over has made my depression so bad that I'm usually scared to talk to anybody, which is an impediment in getting a job.

I guess I'm trying to say that I can understand how being isolated like that can drive somebody batshit crazy, and one way to reduce the amount of batshit crazy people is to ease up on the making fun of people specifically for being unemployed and homeless. That's not cool IMO.

64. I'm not insulted
Just kinda disappointed. All this attention paid to freepers seems to be making some DUers just as mean-spirited as they are.

Have a great day anyway, and I'll try and do the same. Peace.

please please try not to take it personally cause we are not going to stop. at all. even though i would like to help you in some way, and you are perfectly correct in your post,.... there are TOO many valid reasons why we all will continue this wrong.

but know.... part of the HUGE laugh is time and again the repug talks about all dems unemployed living in te basement with mom sitting around smoking pot, so in essence, as mixed up as it sounds, it is in defense of you that we are ALL being jerks and will continue to be jerks.

hey.... i hope you can make the best out of your situation and use the opportunity living at home in the highest possible way, ....

but i do want to validate what you are saying. i think that is important

93. I live at home, and I'll be 34 soon!
I work full-time, but don't quite make enough to overcome the cost of living out here! Plus, I am currently on a debt consolidation, but I'm getting close to paying it all off. I have a degree now, so hopefully I'll be in a much higher-paying career situation shortly! It can be painful sometimes to hear society unanimously put people like me down simply because of my economic and living situation, even though I know it won't be this way for much longer. I got dumped by my fiance a few months ago, and what really hurts is realizing that people in my situation are undesireable to most women, even though it may be a while before I even think of dating.

98. It happens. I finally escaped the 'rents too!
I lived with my parents for three years to save money and take care of my mom when she got breast cancer. MY DAD WASN'T EVEN CHANGING HER BANDAGES OR FEEDING HER. (Sorry about the caps, but... it still amazes me... just amazes me...)

My dad took this opportunity to make me his personal slave. He has issues, though, and when he tried to come in on me while I was in the bathroom, that was when I moved out. I packed one tiny little bag with my barest belongings, said a prayer, and bought a Greyhound ticket to where I live now in ABQ. Best move I ever made. Slightly challenging transition, but found a great job, am starting my movie company again, and life is GOOD.

Highly recommended. F the money. Escape.

114. You are in no way similar to the freepster white powder "looser"
... you haven't used the U.S. mail to send white powder to people to terrorize them!

How do I know this? I don't. I take it on faith, because you certainly sound sane to me.

In the olden days (even before I was born), many and many a man lived with his mother or parents until the time he got married. Ditto for women, of course. I know this because my mother told me of numerous examples of this. Why did she tell me all that? Because at the time I was criticizing my brother--who lived with our parents up till he was about 30.

Good luck, and don't even think about comparing yourself to that Castagana guy again!

Not with a man, however. Like most women my age (38), I've heard all the shuck-n-jive and just can't take them seriously anymore.

No offense to present company, of course.

Don't you think it's a bit funny that the 'homegrown terrorist' that Freeps have been claiming that we are turns out to be one of their own? And, to boot, unemployed and living with mom at his age? Don't you recall the insults that Kheph was peppered with?

I think it's hilarious. Glad that * economy is working out for you so well, Chad.

War Room
by Tim Grieve July 18, 2006

Ann Coulter, felon?
An envelope containing a suspicious white powder showed up in the mailroom at the New York Times last week. We can't tell if she's joking or not -- really, can we ever? -- but Ann Coulter is claiming that she's responsible.
<snip>
"I wonder," the source said, "if she considers herself at all responsible when lunatics read her columns and she says that we should be killed."

105. My nephew, his girlfriend and their 3-yr-old
daughter are all living in his bedroom at my sister's house in Hawaii. The prices to buy or rent are so sky-high she said that she doesn't know if they'll ever be able to get their own place. She sounded kinda down, so to cheer her up I told her about my friend's brother (who lives in the next town over). He and his wife couldn't afford to get a place, either, back in the early 1980s, so they lived in his bedroom and raised their family of four children there. "But here's the bright part!" I said. "Two of the kids have already left the "nest' to live at their respective partners parents' homes. Only two to go, and by then Mom will be so old, she'll be grateful that her son and his wife are there to assist her!"
I guess she was pretty depressed, because she just couldn't seem to see the up side of the situation. Oh, well, I tried...
