Cheer the Coming of the Godfather.
Poppy to the Rescue!

When the thug father moves out in the open to save the thug son, there's nothing to cheer about. The Godfather of the Bush crime family isn't out to save America or the troops or the Iraqi people - he's out to save the deals made under the son, to save their cronies, and to keep the Bush name from being linked with impeachment and trials for war crimes. He's out to save himself as well.

He's out to make sure the real workings behind the Bush Regime are not exposed. Because the same workings behind the father are also behind the son. To expose one is to expose them all.

And anyone that has to take a fall to preserve those deals, and keep the Bush name from being mired in the muck of criminal process, will fall.

They will happily resign. They will even resign under a very public cloud of shame - for perceived public shame means nothing to them and it never will. The people will gloatingly feed off this perceived shame while the one resigning takes their millions and goes about their life - business as usual.

You might even see them again as a consultant, connected to well known firms that deal with the Bush crime family.

They may even decide to retire for good, spending the rest of their days behind the scenes until the final crime family gathering over their graves.

They aren't worried about what a foreign country might say about them or do to them - after all, who is going to extradite them?

They don't care if a "guilty" verdict is written on a piece of paper in some foreign land that will never, ever, see them in prison for their crimes.

They can hide out in America away from the justice of foreign governments - unless America gives them no place to hide.

James Baker has always been involved in the son's Regime. From Selection 2000 to Iraqi "debt" envoy, appointed by Shrub to handle Iraq's debt - to the "Iraq Study Group", Baker has never been out of the picture - and neither has the father.

Robert Gates is the keeper of secrets and shaper of reality. From Iran-Contra to the Bush library to Secretary of Defense.

Cheer the coming of the Godfather and you cheer the cover up - the continuation of the lies - the continuation of the corruption. Cheer the coming of the thug father and you cheer everything that gave us the Bush Regime.

The thug father came out in the open to save the thug son - by any means necessary.

Anything that can be used to protect the power behind the scenes will be used.

Any lie that needs to be told will be told.

Any person that needs to be fired will be fired.

Any action that needs to be taken will be taken.

Absolutely nothing will be what it seems on the surface.

The thug father is playing for keeps.

After all, what if George P. Bush, JEB's son, wants to be President one day? Can't have any convictions or impeachments in the family to hinder his aspirations. Maybe not in 10 years - but in 20 years, when the memory of crimes committed have faded and the American people look back as they so often do, at a past that never really existed and proclaim it "better" than what's happening now -we could very easily see another Bush in office.

Unless we stop them now. Unless we, the American people, also play for keeps. This is our country - don't let them win.

2. there is no constitutional authority for ...
...the taking over of the president's powers to appoint administration officials by a member of the president's family.

What is the method by which these appointments are being made? Has the son ceded power to the father, in violation of the rule of law and without the consent of the people?

I believe we are watching a coup of sorts.

The propaganda surrounding the father's renewed rise to power is thick and relentless. The narrative that the meritorious and wise father has arrived to save the weak son is propaganda and the MSM is pushing it on all fronts.

Careful here, folks. Careful.

3. You're exactly right
This move only entrenches the corruption more.

The spin of the "wise" taking over is just that - comforting, lulling, spin...and it's dangerous.

7. It looks like a coup, walks like a coup and quacks like a coup.
I can find the humor in seeing Jr humiliated publicly on magazine covers, but the bottom line here isn't funny in the least.

Bush Sr has had his influence over more than a couple of other US presidents, but for America to somehow accept that bush jr is letting his father, a former president, bring in his people to do a job that our current president can't handle, is terrifying. Bush Sr. was not elected to this term, neither was his platform nor his agendas, not publicly anyway. For Poppy to openly thumb his nose at all the people who did vote for bush jr should outrage them.

8. If Cheney resigns because of 'health reasons'
I think georgie might appoint his brother Jeb, or maybe even his dad as VP. Then either would be in-line to assume presidency in 2008, or sooner if georgie steps down.

10.  I didn't buy (and still don't) the whole falling out bit
The Bush family's obsessive need for loyalty is especially true of family.

When it comes to the Bush family, any talk in the press of "in fighting" should be taken with several grains of salt and a big dose of suspicion. Got to ask yourself what they're up to if they want people to believe Poppy and Shrub are fighting.

At least that's how I see the family.
