Unemployed Republican Terrorist who lived with Mom Arrested by Joint Terrorism Task Force
I really can't get enough of this story, its ashame the media will never refer to him as what he is, I think we should be all mindful to reference him as The Republican Terrorist Chad Castagana.

discuss amongst yourselfs..

3. Its the truth and you know if someone who donated to moveon
or something similar commited a crime like this, every Republican would be calling him a moveon member any time they brought him up. This guy was a daily poster and the largest Republican message board on the internet.

28. it's just that the conservatives are always screeching about "personal responsibility"...
... and the need to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" and claiming themselves to be the "hard-working taxpayers" that all persons poorer and/or less white are supposedly living off of.

:eyes:

On the Left, we understand that some people will have problems and will need help -- whether from their families, or society, or both. We're humane about that, and we want to help such people lead the best lives they can. It's the Right that endlessly heaps scorn and hatred upon those who, for whatever reason, can't seem to get their lives together.

If this guy hadn't insisted upon stewing himself in the toxic culture of the far Right, would he have felt compelled to act out like this?

32. what you described is my neighbor
she is in her 40's, lives with her parents...but doesn't do much around the house to help.
She basically spends her entire paycheck entertaining herself but votes Republican and doesn't like to see anyone else get help ...or as she calls them.."handouts"..

16. I know someone like this .... still living with Mommy.

His paranoia makes him prime RW fodder. It never seems to occur to him that HE is the oddball. Always has an opinion on how the rest of the world is out of step with his own personal parade.

Some times he's really hard to take because one never knows when he's off his meds.
It takes a lot of patience to ignore someone like this. Damn shame.

25. How much do you want to bet that he will not end up in Gitmo?
No this guy will not be treated as a terrorist by this hypocritical administration.

Not that I want him in Gitmo necessarily and I also want him to have all the rights that any criminal defendent should have. But it will be interesting to see if he will be treated as Jose Padilla was treated.

26. NOW WAIT just a minute here!
Castagana, of Los Angeles, was being held in a federal detention center pending an initial court appearance Monday, when prosecutors were expected to file charges.

Authorities claim he mailed threatening letters to Pelosi, Letterman, New York Sen. Charles Schumer, Jon Stewart of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" and MSNBC host Keith Olbermann.

Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office, said he did not believe Castagana had retained a lawyer but he wasn't certain. If Castagana hasn't, a public defender will be appointed prior to his Monday court appearance.

Bewilderment No. 1--Why hasn't this terrorist been whisked off to GitMo or some secret prison to be tortured?

Bewilderment No. 2--Why a court appearance? I thought we got rid of habeas corpus?

Bewilderment No. 3--Why does he get an attorney. I thought the "Torture is O.K. Bill" got rid of that quaint notion!

Needless to say, fellow DUers, I...I...I'm bewildered!
