Who else besides me thinks that Tester is adorable
he's like a big ole teddy bear with a crew cut :)

Fresh Off the Farm in Montana, a Senator-to-Be

GREAT FALLS, Mont., Nov. 9 — When he joins the United States Senate in January, big Jon Tester — who is just under 300 pounds in his boots — will most likely be the only person in the world’s most exclusive club who knows how to butcher a cow or grease a combine.

All his life, Mr. Tester, 50, has lived no more than two hours from his farm, an infinity of flat on the windswept expanse of north-central Montana, hard by the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.

For all the talk about the new Democrats swept into office on Tuesday, the senator-elect from Montana truly is your grandfather’s Democrat — a pro-gun, anti-big-business prairie pragmatist whose life is defined by the treeless patch of hard Montana dirt that has been in the family since 1916.

It is a place with 105-degree summer days and winter chills of 30 below zero, where his grandparents are buried, where his two children learned to grow crops in a dry land entirely dependent on rainfall, and where, he says, he earned barely $20,000 a year farming over the last decade.

6. He's going to get more of it on his boots
What he's got on his boots, he's about to get a lot more of. The only thing is, the kind you get on your boots in Washington stinks a LOT worse, and doesn't help ANYTHING grow.

8. I will not find him adorable till he apologizes PERSONALLY to John Kerry.
Hillary, Harold Ford, Tester, McCain ... screw them ALL till they apologize for not standing up to the GOP PREVARICATION MACHINE ... they all basically perpetuated Karl Rove's Swiftboating LIES about Kerry.

They SHOULD have stood as one, and listed all of Kerry's work on behalf of veterans and military families, and told the nation that Kerry NEVER would have insulted the troops. Instead, they cynically thought of their own political careers, embraced the Bush Admin. lies and piled on.

Screw em.

14. I love Jon (long time supporter) but I was really
upset about his Kerry remarks.

I called his office that day - told them I blame the staff for not fully informing him on the matter.

He does need to apologize - he gained nothing with his remark. I felt it was out of character for Jon but maybe not. And, if not, I have backed the wrong horse.

11. He's a big cutiepie.
I think it's fantastic that we've got some folks going to Washington that are pretty new to politics. Fresh eyes and a fresh perspective can really invigorate the political landscape.

12. Yes he is!!!
As was said on a report a few days ago, he's going to be a striking presence on the Hill. He's cool because he seems very down to earth. He's different, not a typical politician, and I like that. :)

13. He's going to shine like a star....
and the South in particular will find him very appealing. I'm sure they're scratching their heads and wondering how a cowboy can be a Democrat.

Check out this YouTube video of Tester & Burns in a debate. Tester bursts out laughing at Burns absurdities.

17. I LOVE Senator-elect Tester!!!
Finally, somebody in the Senate who looks like me!!!!:toast:

It's about time we big guys in the Democratic Party had a spokesman!! When I saw the ads of Tester and Governor Schweitzer, I said to myself "These are two boys who I could sit down and have a beer with!"

I agree that Tester is going to be quite the presence on the Hill. He and Jim Webb are really going to challenge the MSM's idea of what a "Democrat" is. I also agree that these two are going to make good PR Men in the Red States.

As a final thought, did anmyone else know what Tester's college degree is in? Turns out, it's MUSIC!!

What a guy!
