I got called a 'leftist' this weekend!

I went to a coin collectors convention on Saturday in Baltimore, and I had my 'Stop bitching, start a revolution' t-shirt on, which looks like this:



So I have to fill out a membership-like thing. The guy gives it to me, and then he starts in. "You should live around here with that shirt on. There's a buncha leftists around here. We got beat bad last week. Too many leftists..."

I just smiled and said "yup" and walked off.

The guy really should have taken the advice on my shirt to heart. Oh well, it sure feels good to be a laftist.

But when there's an intractable problem, both sides dug in without anyone wanting to give an inch, and the egos have overrun all semblance of reason, remembering that "compromise" makes everyone a winner can break the logjam. And sometimes "compromise" means "Let's not do anything about this issue right this second, and let it season for a while."

I swear if I hear one more person here at work complain about paying school district taxes even though they don't have kids . . . you can spot a "persecuted rightist" a mile away with both eyes tied behind your back. Just listen for the loud incessant whine.

just for revealing I was a Kerry supporter just before 2004. The guy ranted that I could go to China or North Korea if Kerry won, but that he'd have nowhere to go. I hope he was drunk, because if he was sober, then he was batshit crazy.
