Just finished watching MTP Pelosi and Reid declined to appear?
What's up with that? Are they snubbing Russert (wouldn't blame them if they were). It was weird that at the end of the broadcast he said they were asked to appear but declined.

1. The press is NOT our friend. I don't blame them. Good choice
on their part.

2. Maybe they were just busy.
Of course, if that was so, then Russert better say that everyone who can't come on his show because they are busy "declined to appear".

3. You mean I was right? They ARE boycotting him?
But I was just being sarcastic. I never thought it was true.

Well, didn't he deserve that slap in the face.

4. they have more than enough to do right now than to appear on
Little Russ's show (why Meet the Press? it should be "Meet Tim Russert") They'll be with him plenty in the next two years.

5. The real story is that Russert said something
He was obviously responding to the broad criticism on the blogs for his choice of guests.

6. Here's what MTP would've looked like if either of them had shown
Russ: You won!
P or R: Yes, I did
Russ: So, Predisent in 08
P or R: No, got stuff to do
Russ: Sure?
P or R: Yep
Russ: Final answer?
P or R: Yep
Russ: Closing the book on that?
P or R: Yep
Russ: So what you gonna campaign on?
P or R: Not campaigning
Russ: Not even for President, you just won the House/Senate
P or R: Got stuff to do
Russ: Like.. set up for 2012? Reid/Obama? Pelosi/Clinton?
P or R: Nope
Russ: So 2008 then, since you ruled out 2012

:puke:

8. Maybe they were trying to avoid the "impeachment" question.
Maybe they didn't want to have to reply one more time "Impeachment is off the table".

I'm hoping it's back on the table. :)

10. Reid spoke to Bob Schieffer on Face the Nation
It was really good; he outlined the Dems' legislative agenda clearly and succinctly. Pelosi spoke to Blitzer and also was on Newshour.

11. Maybe they were busy?
Anyway, there apparently weren't any other Democrats that Timmy was interested in, as I wondered yesterday on a thread. Media Matters wondered the same thing, and offered a few more suggestions for folks that Timmy could have had on his little program:

12. Too busy fixing the Republican's crap?
You can always count on the right to turn out for these appearances because they'd rather blab then work. Hopefully we'll see a decline in politicians trying to make themselves out as celebrities.

13. Why should have they come as a rebuttal to McCain and Lieberman?
They should have been the lead guests, and, as I saw it, McCain and Lieberman were the lead guests, and they were only called as a rebuttal.

16. Yep, you are correct! I am female and I don't have Nancy's thick
skin, but I am sure as glad she does have that thick skin.

I didn't know they were not asked as the top bill, sheesh! I wouldn't have gone either, I mean the Congress just got new leadership and he belittles the leaders by deferring to the individual members, what a crock Tim. Good luck with your guests in the future!

15. Russert is a partisan hack. That's why.
But they should have appeared and trashed the guy. Like Clinton did recently.
