My e-mail to Carville and the reply I received.
Edited on Mon Nov-13-06 08:18 PM by Skidmore
Dear Mr. Carville,

As the citizen of a rural state in which I could never locate campaign materials or a local representative of the Democratic party for years, I must tell you that I have been thrilled with Dr. Dean's 50 state strategy. For years I literally begged to participate and never received a call or any indication that my requests to participate were ever received by anyone. It is important for all areas of the nation to participate in this democracy and for democratic tools to be available to all citizens. I will support anyone who understands that the individual citizen's vote is not a game piece. It is the citizen's voice. It is my voice and my neighbors. My support goes to the candidate that recognizes the importance of populist issues and is willing to listen to those who vote.
I strongly encourage you to retract your slight to Dr. Dean, who has done a fine job with laying the groundwork for this past election cycle. I also encourage you to apologize to him as well. Dr. Dean has remembered that the engine of democracy is made up of many parts. I am one of them. It would behoove you, and whoever you are thinking of supporting in 08, to pay attention to that as well.

Sincerley,

I got this back (don't know who Rich Harris is):

Dear Ms. XXXXX
Thank you for your message regarding Mr. Carville's endorsement of Harold Ford over Dr. Howard Dean. As you might imagine, a great many people have contacted us expressing their support for Dr. Dean. Mr. Carville is currently out of town, but I know he will be interested your comments and will offer them to him when he returns. Thank you as well for your continued Democratic Party activism. Although we in the party will surely have our disagreements, vibrant discussions such as these only help to make our party stronger.

Thanks again,
Rich Harris

5. Ask Carville if ousting Dean was a plan suggested to him by his wife
Ousting Dean be the exact right thing for Carville to endorse if he wanted to devide the party. Carville's wife wants to devide the Democratic party. Hmmmmm. Appears Carville's priorities are to the further to the right.

7. How far out-of-town does one have to get to be out of e-mail range?
Can you hear me now, James? James? James?

8. You put a lot of thought into your letter & you got a push-button reply
in return. I do believe that "a great many people have contacted" them in support of Dr. Dean, but they need to address those concerns instead of the promise of "offering suggestions" to Carville when he "gets back in town." (Like this isn't an issue important enough to call Carville on the phone for a statement.) Geesh.
