Are the producers at NBC news complete and utter idiots???
I just watched the NBC Nightly News about an hour ago or so. They did a piece on the groundbreaking for the new MLK memorial in Washington DC.

The reporter doing the piece said that people had gathered where MLK had delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech THIRTY THREE YEARS AGO.

He delivered that speech in 1963!!!!!!

First, the reporter is so clueless as to American history that he makes such an obvious error. Then, NOBODY at NBC catches it. Oy vey.

1. It's "The Math".
:eyes:

Thirty-three. Forty-three. Close enough for government work, eh?

2. I caught that too.
I sat here and wondered if I was mistaken, it took me mere seconds to verify that they were wrong.

3. MLK was already dead 33 years ago
He must have misspoken and you are right, someone should have caught that.

4. Fact checkers? They don't need no stinkin' fact checkers!
Corporate owners have cut news staffs to the bone.

9. That damn "No Reporter Left Behind" Act--
it's screwed up everything.

TV news, both national and local, is so bad that I can't watch any of it anymore. Tonight on two of our local channels we have "lip balm addiction" and "hair dye can cause cancer."

Obviously there's no other news fit to report.

11. My daughter is a Chapstick addict
She keeps one every room and her pants pocket, goes semi-frantic whenshe can't find one.

So is our Jack Russell/dachshund mix, apparently..cuz every time daughter buys a bunch of the stuff, I find the EMPTY containers on the floor with chew marks on the outside, lid gone. That dog has to have the smoothest poop in town.
