Q: why do posts have so many "views"?

If you visit the same thread five times, it counts for five views as long as the thread has changed and new data is being pulled from the server. Every time someone replies to a thread and the discussion is reloaded in their browser after posting, it also counts as an additional view.

At least, that's how I understand it. I messed around with it in one of the group forums at one point, and this seems to be how it works. Every time the page is loaded, for any reason, the Views counter increments up by one.
