Right Wing Thug Vandalizes Our Home During Anniversary Party
Edited on Mon Nov-13-06 11:30 PM by Keseys Ghost
Some of you know us and know that we are very active in the antiwar and civil rights movements. Other families have photos on their walls of vacations to Disneyworld, dad's hole in one, and that great week in Cancun. At our house, the walls are covered by photographs of us negotiating with police in Crawford, marching against the war in Harlem and Atlanta, leading the Jazz Funeral for Democracy in New Orleans, and making speaches across the South. We have peace flags, W pinatas, and family photos with the likes of Julian Bond, Cindy Sheehan, and Charlie Rangle.

Last weekend, we celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary by hosting an elaborate party for about 160 of our friends complete with open bar, boiled shrimp, griods & grits, charbroiled oysters, and the Tuxedo Brass Band. We have only just finished repairing the home following Katrina and it looked beautiful.

Our guests included defense lawyers, prosecutors, judges, journalists, artists, activists, hippies, relief workers, the kids who work at our neighborhood coffee shop, parents from our daughter's school, NAACP members, and, to tone down the noise comlaints, a few neighbors we don't know so well.

One of these neighbors, a guy about 60 or better, decided that he didn't dig our politics and literally began removing family momentos from our walls and throwing them on the floor. Really. No shit. Blew me away.

When I asked him to leave my home, he decided he wanted to fight (always a mistake to assume that one who is antiwar is necessarily a pacifist). Violence was avoided, but I remain blown away by the lack of class.

Blown away.

A cartoon of himself...

Such is life here in Redneck Red State Amerika...

ONWARD!

1. Well. Now you know who not to invite to your next party.
That's an appalling way for a guest to behave. If he didn't care for your politics he should have just left the party. I hope he didn't damage any of your stuff, or if he did, you sue his nasty freeper ass in small claims court. What a pig.

2. That is one guy you're going to have to keep an eye on.
If he was that bold (and stupid) in your home in front of a large number of guests, I have no doubt what he would do under the cover of darkness.

7. IT's tough but you have to remember that the righties sensebilities have been assulated:
And they are feeling scared vulnerable defeated threatned and let down by a belief that has been shown to be a fraud foited on them by frauds and now they realize the truth and it hurts. Not an excuse for them to destroy private property but still a tough time for honest peopl who have been cheated by the snake oil salesmen!

10. !!!!!!!!!
When somebody is asked to leave there are no if, ands, or buts. When somebody is asked to leave that is when they are no longer a guest and become a criminal trespasser. I have always thought that the act of simply going through a doorway was an act of implied consent to the host's rules of acceptable behavior.

get some surveillance cams installed outside your home immediately. This guy is unstable and you know he is not finished. I would not waste a day getting them up, seriously, do it for your own protection. Its hard to defend against video. Happy 10th, may you both have many good years of shared happiness.

13. Last week's election results must have set him off
The freepers are all going nuts.

Congrats on your happy day. Sounds like a super fun bash. And when all things are taken into account, the guests probably found the the neighbor more entertaining in a freakish sort of way than a fireworks display or a scantily clad lady jumping out of a cake.

16. It was the Saturday before the election
It's taken me a week to process it all.

Maybe my neighbor knew something Rove didn't about what would happen the following Tuesday.

I know I did.

14. Hope he didn't break anything.
Hope he apologizes, him being a neighbor and all. Shame he made such a fool of himself. I think these guys have basically gone from obnoxiously smug to just obnoxiously desperate.

15. In all fairness, we did recieve a written apology
But, I assume that it was the manifestation of a humiliated wife's ultimatum.

21. These types of guys thought they had the world by the balls.
They thought their permanent Republican majority would allow them to sneer at liberals and Democrats as being "un-American" for years. Then they got their comeuppance and discovered the majority of voters supported the non-rightwing position. They are PISSED to be in the humiliating position of reduced power. They get dangerous under these circumstances.
