Gas prices starting to go up anywhere?
Around here they are going up slowly, about 10 cents/gallon since the election!

Just as we thought!

1. Up two cents a gallon in the past week
in South Mississippi. I think it has gone up more in South Louisiana. Its all the fault of evil liberal voters.

Already seeing some "spin" in the media. It's getting colder, etc.

20. Yes, 1.99 last Tuesday
and paid 2.08 yesterday. It's happening, folks. Big oil couldn't influence the mid-terms, so now it's time to start really gauging the consumers again.

25. steadily going up in East Tennessee .... about 15 cents/gal
since election day. I knew it would happen too. I told my dad back in august to expect $2/gal gas by election time, and he laughed. He came up to me about a week before election day and said "well, it looks like you were right!" I told him "just watch after the elections and see how fast and how high it goes back up"... now he just looks at me and shakes his head... Lately I've been telling him about PNAC, the neo-cons and the GOPranos. My 89 year old grandfather is listening also, and he's a rump limpballs listener and faux news watcher.. and never misses larry king's show. Grandpa was very shocked to learn that dumbya wasn't born in Texas.

28. We are now entering the boiling of the frog era of gas prices...
Edited on Tue Nov-14-06 12:36 PM by Javaman
They won't shoot up overnight like they did last time, the auto companies still have to get rid of their back stock of SUV's.

It was just stated yesterday that hybrid sales have cooled and suv's have jumped.

I knew this was going to happen. I predicted this months ago.

So what we are going to see until after the holidays, is a slow, painfully slow rise in gas prices. This is so the sticker shock at the pump won't drive people back to the japanese auto manufacturers again. We are getting the ad industries version of brainwashing.

As soon as the new year breaks and the suv lots are empty, watch the price of gas shoot up.

What will happen then will be very ugly indeed. All the morons that ran out and got suv's because of this very temporary lull in gas prices will indeed have their nuts crushed. The price of gas will go up, their suv's will be worth much less than what they bought them for. (much like they were just a few months ago) And the lending companies will suddenly change their interest rates. Squeezing these dumb bastards between a rock and a hard place or between a worthless behemoth and a high interest loan, thus plunging them deeper into debt.

Couple that with the bubbling housing market, because these boobs borrowed on the equity of their colossally overbuilt macmansion, you have the makings of a perfect financial storm of epic proportions.

We as a nation give rise to some really stupid people. Or as someone once elegantly put it on here, "they put the E in idiot".

they know there will be investigations and regulations on them come Jan,1st. They are going to milk this country for all they can get before the Dems. clamp down on these thieves.
