The Big Oil Coup and the BFEE - how I see things
GHW Bush was a key player in the coup that cost President Carter the election. Thus seating the Reagan-Bush team in office.

In 2000 after GW Bush was apparently losing Florida he made the statement that it was impossible his brother Jeb Bush had "promised to deliver" Florida for him. After this Jeb recused himself and Katherine Harris moved up as the sole authority to certify the winner. The fact that she was also the co-chair of the Bush 2000 presidential campaign in Florida should have been grounds for recusal on her behalf, but it was overlooked by the powers that be.

In the end the decision fell in the lap of the Supreme Court, where once again those who should have recused themselves (Justice Thomas & Justice Scalia) simply chose not to. Then after a few more tricky moves and on illegal session of Congress Bush became the first ever selected president of the United States. The second coup was complete.

Now we're faced with what appears to be a third coup of sorts, again brought to us by the BFEE. We have GW Bush, the current seated president allowing his father, GHW Bush, a former president who holds no official office, to instill his men and call the shots. Why? So none of the interest he's worked so hard to develop get destroyed by GW Bush's incompetence. The odd thing about this is it's being embraced in the media. I fail to see how there are no flags going up over the actions of GHW, but there are none that I've seen.

I know most don't think that Jeb, with his dirty Contra connection, has a shot at 2008, but I'm not so sure. I suggest we keep a close eye on him and his big oil connected family.

This is why I feel that investigations into the crimes committed by this administration are so vital.

1. ITA. If Americans NOW cannot see what TIME and NEWSWEEK
have boldly, even brazenly, thrown in their faces with Poppy, Baker, and Gates (never mind Cheney and the departed Rumsfeld), then obtuseness reigns.

4. Was he?
I don't recall all the details anymore, but think the commission was split 8/7 and the votes fell along those same party lines.

I would assume that would count as being selected.

Wikipedia is even better:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1876

Interestign read - many parallels to the 2000 election - on an impressive scale. Only difference seemed to involve voter intimidation of republicans in southern states - which makes sense. Although it was shady, it seems right that the republcians took that one due to disenfranchisement of republicans in the south - certainly that would have happened mroe than disenfranchisement of democrats in the south during reconstruction.

* is not the first "selected" president.

5. The GOP has run on its national ticket either Bob Dole or a Bush since 1976
And Dole IMHO was just a sacrifice, in 1976 as Gerald "I pardoned Tricky Dick" Ford's running mate and in 1996 when it was obvious no Bush wanted to run against the ever-popular Bill Cinton.

But a member of the Bush family has been on the GOP ticket in:
1980
1984
1988
1992
2000
2004

The Bush Family is a power behind the power: This is one sick, evil Family with blood on its hands from 100s of thousands.

6. Something sticks in my memory and won't go away. On that

November night in 2000 when Bill Bennett who was with the Bush family in the room waiting for the count came out and said it's too soon to say that Gore won with a big smile on his face, they showed the Bush family all seated in a circle. Later when Murdoch and Welch called the vote for George, Poppy fought back tears.

I always wondered whether he cried because:

. he would have another chance at sealing, destroying and redacting his own incriminating papers and documents
. he saw a clear path to more profit and profit opportunities on behalf of partner barons
. all the photos and records of Junior acting up were successfully recovered and destroyed and facilitators paid
. his playboy son with his well paid coaches, groomers, cover-up artists along with the tutors' lessons in basic history, geography, political science and grammar had pulled it off
