1. I think his health is failing.
He looks terrible; seems to have gained weight and has no color to his skin.

26. And who will Bush appoint as Cheney's Successor?
Remember under the 25th Amendment (adopted in 1967) set up the procedure to replace a Vice President when they is none (Either because of Death, resignation, impeachment or elevation to the Presidency). That procedure requires Bush to name the Successor who must be approved by BOTH HOUSES (Not just the Senate). If you were Bush and had to name a REPUBLICAN who MUST be Approved by the Majority of both the house and Senate (Both of whom as of January will be Democratic) who would you pick??

When Nixon had this problem he named the Minority Leader of the House (Ford). When Ford had this problem he Named a Liberal Republican Governor (Nelson Rockefeller). Think about it who would Bush pick knowing the pick MUST get a Majority of BOTH of the House of Representatives AND The US Senate? I can not See Hazlett being approved by the Democrats given how he ran the House. The Democrats will NOT approve of anyone who may run for President. At the same time the GOP has to at least support the person nominated (Thus Ford named Rockefeller but he was replaced on the 1976 GOP Ticket by Bob Dole). Who will a Lame duck President name? McCain? Bush's Brother Jeb? Who and will the Democrats approved the person named?

12. They kinda remind me of the rat pack
Edited on Tue Nov-14-06 05:36 PM by Bucky
No, I'm not suggesting Condolleezza is the Liza Minelli to Cheney's Sinatra

Rather, when I see this ratpack...

I think of this...

That's Cheney over on the left

Buzzed out and sleeping on the job.

But I wanna be fair here. When my dad had his heart attack, a lot of the heart meds he was taking made him drowsy. We can maybe assign some of that to Cheney's snooze-a-riffic tendencies. But of course people on heart medications are told to take it easy, live low-stress lives, and get plenty of sleep at night (sleeping at the office isn't going to give you the same quality of rest and recuperation. With all the stress Cheney is living under (imagine how pissed off at him all his buddies at Texaco and BP and Northrup are!), the work he's doing in the government is probably going to put him into an early grave. In fact, his job performance seems to be putting a lot of people into early graves.

I've been around rats, gerbils and hamsters a lot....rats are very social, very friendly, very smart creatures.

All things the bush crowd are decidedly NOT.

18. Because he's a cyborg and his electronic parts have to
have down time to get reoiled and recalibrated.

I kid. I think he's too old and too sick for the job. Time to send him into early retirement IMHO. Poppy can always replace him with Dan Quayle. Then the old gang will be back.

24. My guess it has to do with his heart.
When grandmother's heart started to give out she was sleeping all the time. I doubt that his circulation is all that good and I wouldn't be surprised if he needed to go on oxygen soon.

Reminds me of Bush's plaid blue shirt that he's always wearing whenever he wants to give the appearance of "working hard".
