Nobody hurts like Rush and Rove
Rush was angry. The day after the election he was dissing George W Bush and saying he would no long "carry their water". This was such a blow to his ego. He wanted his followers to believe he was the "kingmaker". After all, look at what he did in 1994, when the Repubs made him an "honorary" Member of Congress. His followers were hurt also, but to a lesser extent.

And then there's Rove. Everybody was telling Bush that the Repubs were in trouble. Bush didn't believe them. He said, "Karl has the papers". Karl wanted everyone to believe he was magical and super human. When the votes were counted, he looked like a fool. Nobody has seen him in days.

2. Well, we know Rush got 23 million dollars from his work on the dark side.
Will we ever learn how much Rove got?

3. Both Rush and Hannity sound pissed this week
Like they can't even be bothered to put up with a country that failed to do what they wanted them too.

4. There are so many snarky responses one could make to that thread title...
I'm overwhelmed by all the choices.

5. If Rush was sincere about "carrying the water" he would have
named names. Once again, he couches it in such a way that his loyal fans get to fill in the blank(s) and he's off the hook.

He's sewer scum.

6. Two poorly educated hateful men
who can only make a living by deceit, lies, hate and ugliness. Pathetic human beings who don't realize the tragedy of having to live with themselves.

9. Poorly-educated? Both men are at the top of their field.
They may be scumbags, but they're absolute experts at what they do. They just couldn't save the Republican party from itself this election--the Republican corruption and incompetence finally overwhelmed their machine.

12. Neither of them have college degrees
(although rove got a military deferment to attend college, and yet still no degree.) And what those two do does not require an education, just an evil, ugly, hateful heart.

15. There are plenty of hateful people in the world.
Edited on Wed Nov-15-06 10:39 AM by Kelly Rupert
Few are as successful as Rove and Limbaugh. They're evil, horrible people, and evil is a prerequisite for their jobs, but it isn't the only one. Intelligence and ability are required too. Rove is an absolute expert in what he does. So is Rush. Calling them poorly-educated is misleading; there's nobody alive who can teach them anything in their field.

16. Just what is their "field"?
Propaganda? The ability to deceive and manipulate is not necessarily a sign of intelligence.

10. They Underestimated Turn Out
"The Math" was based on an outdated model. While it had all the dirty tricks built in...the numbers didn't crunch right.

"The Math" was predicated that all Rove needed was to get close and his "GOTV" activities would do the rest. Be it Rovo-Calls, passing out phoney voter cards, loading up the church busses and non-stop noise to drive up voter apathy. The wedge issues he thought would play...fear, gays and Mexicans didn't click. But he was sure it would...cause he was polling his base...and just his base...and that was the baseline for "The Math". He missed the 18-30 vote, he missed the swing in the Hispanic vote, he missed the larger numbers of absentee ballots and pre-voting that was showing the wave building. He still thought things were close enough for him to finese. So did boooshie boy.

These goons are still in denial as accepting responsibility is foreign to them and finding a scapegoat far more convenient and satisfying. "Repugnicans lost, Conservatives didn't" is part of this game. I sure hope they continue it for a while cause it marginalizes Rushbo even further and brings on the assured GOOP bloodletting that will provide us with some fine moments to savor in the near future.
