Uggh just had a terrible thought |
|
Look how things are unfolding. Is Bush 41 is going to make another run at the White House? He is going to come in and appear to clean up corruption, appear to broker the Iraq War ceasefire. etc. He is taking control of Junior's mess. I believe it will sell to the older Republicans who yearn for a Reaganisque-type candidate. They might just settle for Bush 41. So far their field of candidates is about as pitiful as ours. :puke:

The name is tainted. I doubt that any one in that family will get elected ever again. Jr. took care of tarnishing the family name....

C'mon now. Get a grip.
Or if you really want to indulge your delusional fancies, imagine a Bush1-Slick Willie ticket. THAT's the ticket!

3. I think he is too old to run, but... |
|
you suggested another alternative.
Cheney resigns. Bush 1 is appointed VP. (Just to clean up the mess.)
Actually can he be VP? Maybe not since he served two VP terms under Reagan.

A successful presidency run would need somewhat of a guarantee that the candidate would survive the four-year tenure.
Just a thought here.

6. I thought that but then thought about Cheney |
|
A man who is old and has horrific heart problems. They still elected him. Bush 41 is much healthier than Cheney.

Hopefully, the presidency has more stringent conditions than the vice-presidency.

7. The Republicans have a really shallow bench |
|
right now. Trent Lott given a leadership post and Bush 41 at least being considered to run again?
A dying party, mayhap?

shined on them, their entire moderate caucus will leave. Personally, I don't want to welcome them under my tent because while they may fit, their hatred takes up too much room.

9. More likely, they'll start grooming someone else |
|
Baker and Bush are too smart to run McCain, and I doubt they'd run Guiliani (not saying neither will run, just that they won't be the Bush choice). They'll have to find someone to groom.
If the rumors about Daddy being back in charge are true at all, that's bad for us. Maybe not fatal, but it will be harder to beat BushCo when they have a bit of mature planning going on, rather than the leadership-by-petulant-tantrum Sonnie favors.

12. Check the list of (R) Governors. |
|
I think this is where they will find the choice pick. That has always seemed to be the MO for republicans, to run a governor, rather than a senator.

15. The country will never accept anyone named GeoB*sh again. |

I seriously doubt Jebbie would be wanted, either. Dumbya has innoculated the people against them all. His mother and her 'compassionate conservatism' has helped with that, too. The * virus has been contained.
