12. Damn, look how staged that was. Just like the Bush Admin
all hat, no cattle. Scratch the surface and there's nothingness. 100% photo op. Argggh.

21. Getting the new New Yorker is the highlight of even the BEST of weeks!
Love, love, love that magazine.

All you have to do is marvel at the cover, read the comics and then set it down. Leave it around the house long enough and you will have eventually read the whole issue, one article at a time over the course of a year. And you will have learned about the most amazing, varied, and beautifully described facets of life.

And now they are offering every issue since 1929 on a single little hard drive. An amateur historian's dream!

(This has not been a paid endorsement.)

27. That's a great way to describe it.
Of course I sneak a peek through all the comics at first, including the contest at the back. But rather than leave it around, it's my breakfast reading each week. Seems like it's always exactly the right amount of reading for 7 mornings, issue in and issue out.

And there's always at least one article in each issue that I cut out and pass on to a friend.

The New Yorker is a brilliantly realized piece of civilized society -- and they bring it to your house!
