Smackdown at work regarding illegal immigration

One of our supervisors is a Republican to the nth degree.
She denounces Medicaid. She denounces unwed mothers. She denounces illegal immigrants. In fact, she follows the Republican agenda down the line.
Even thought it was funny when her little budding Republican son who goes to College feigned interest in the Young Democrats and took their literature and held a bonfire with the rest of his budding fascists (wonder why they aren't in Iraq?)
Anyways...this particular weekend the majority of our patients were non-English speaking Hispanic. In all honesty, this is a rarity. I had gone to the computer to pull all of their discharge instructions off in Spanish. ANYWAYS, she is bitching about them all being on Medicaid and how the government was wasting ALL THIS MONEY on them.
I just looked at her and said would she rather they not have Medicaid?
I mean, they just had babies. That is a medical emergency. The hospital had to take them regardless of their ability to pay. If they did not have Medicaid, then everything we did for them was free. As it was, the state picked up the tab and we get our paychecks. Regardless of the reimbursement.
She looked at me kind of funny, then said, yeah. She was glad they had Medicaid.:rofl:
So then her next rant was how they come over and have their babies here...:banghead:

No babies are ever born in Mexico. And who picks the fucking lettuce in her salad, her son? And who cleans up her motel room, her daughter? Unwed mothers aren't any of her business. And she profits incredibly from the work of immigrants, she's just too fucking bigoted to know it. And why is such a person working in a health care facility? Shouldn't she be operating a website for klansmen?

She does not belong in this environment.
The only thing that I will say is that her family is "dirty".
I don't mean unclean. I mean very corrupt. They were active in local politics.
I am not excluding murder.

According to the US Social Security Administration 75% pay payroll taxes and will contribute $6-7 BILLION in Social Security funds that they will never claim.



Do they drain social service resources MORE than they contribute?

The CATO Institute (yes them) says:

Myth number four: Immigrants impose a financial burden on taxpayers. Immigrants do make somewhat heavier use of means-tested welfare programs than natives. There have been especially flagrant abuses by immigrants of particular welfare programs, such as Supplemental Security Income. But because immigrants tend to come to the United States during the start of their working years --between the ages of 18 and 35 -- they make very large net contributions to the two largest income transfer programs: Social Security and Medicare. When the payroll tax contributions of immigrants are taken into account, the Urban Institute found that the foreign born constitute a net fiscal windfall to the public sector of some $20 billion a year. To the extent that welfare use by immigrants is a problem, this can be addressed by restricting the welfare eligibility of immigrants, not by keeping immigrants out.

A typical immigrant and his or her offspring pay an estimated $80,000 more in taxes than they will receive in federal, state and local benefits over the course of their lifetimes.
