Mid-flight sexual play lands US couple afoul of anti-terrorism law
Nov 14 62006

A couple's ill-concealed sexual play aboard a Southwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles got them charged with violating the Patriot Act, intended for terrorist acts, and could land them in jail for 20 years.

According to their indictment, Carl Persing and Dawn Sewell were allegedly snuggling and kissing inappropriately, "making other passengers uncomfortable," when a flight attendant asked them to stop.

"Persing was observed nuzzling or kissing Sewell on the neck, and ... with his face pressed against Sewell's vaginal area. During these actions, Sewell was observed smiling," reads the indictment filed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

On a second warning from the flight attendant, Persing snapped back threatening the flight attendant with "serious consequences" if he did not leave them alone.

The comment was enough to have the couple, both in their early 40s, arrested when the plane reached its destination in Raleigh, North Carolina, and charged with obstructing a flight attendant and with criminal association.

and terrorist activities.

Yep, that ol' "edge of the wedge" argument is a fallacy all right. Except in real world practice.

:grr:

edit: poor word choice *sigh*

Did you notice how the Corporate Media left out any possible reference to republicon sexual deviants?

Proves all my points about everything.

Case closed: republicons should all be flogged with wet noodles for VIOLATING the Pervert Protection ACT

14. Nothing to do with P. Act
This has nothing to do with the Patriot Act. It has been a crime to threaten an airline crew member for years. Ridiculous. I certainly would have had security waiting for them when we landed for making the threat. Hell, I've had people removed simply for arguing with the flight attendant about turning off a cell phone. But invoking the Patriot Act? WTF?!?

16. yawn....
I doubt this pair of exhibitionists will be going to jail for any length of time. Ridiculous to call them terrorists but since it is a fed crime to threaten a flight attendant they need to realize there are consequences for that...duh.

Sez Judge Judy: the stupid and selfish and belligerent have to be curbed or the rights of others are violated. 40-year olds acting like they're 17 don't have much cred. It's a depressing comment on our society that they would even have the notion that THEIR rights were violated. If their parents didn't teach them anything about rude behavior in public (ie. other people don't want to watch your sexual stuff and you need to abide by the rules sometimes) --then society has to do it. Keeping order on planes is basic. Other passengers will hold the airline responsible if they didnt make any attempt to stop this. No sympathy. Gavel Bang. Pay the lawyers.

Lemme know if they get sent to Gitmo. Otherwise....yawn....:boring:
