Woo Hoo! Dorgan's blocking all business until his amendment
is heard.

The Republicans must have marching orders against any further disaster assistance. Amazing. Millions for Iraq but not a cent for farmers.

2. Is the Senate back up?
I switched to Randi because they were in quorum call.

3. Good for Dorgan.
2006 has been extremely dry in ND and Minnesota. I hope the farmers get some sort of relief.

8. From the OP's post...
"The Republicans must have marching orders against any further disaster assistance."

Which sounds like a good way for the Republicans to alienate people who may have voted for them in the past. The farmers living in drought-stricken areas are pretty hard up right now and come 2008, they're probably going to remember who did or didn't help them in 2006.

5. I thought it was Kent Conrad who is threatening to block
further business and Dorgan was backing him up.

THe pukes had agreed to suspend the rules and allow a vote on his amendment if the dems would cooperate on their earlier business.
They cooperated and, as usual, the clowns broke their promise.
Conrad and Dorgan are pissed. The chamber is empty.
