I'll say it: so far the Democrats are exceeding my expectations |
|
I was going to be happy if within a month they at least laid out the fact that something has to be done about Iraq and the middle class gap.
A week into victory and the congressional seats still cupping the asses of the losers Democrats are already talking troop withdraws in Iraq, cutting taxes on the middle class, presenting the dangers of global warning but also the opportunity for "green" technological developments that should be pursued, and today the North Korean nuke issue has the spotlight.
If you ask me in one week already Democrats have done more than the bush republican party and the bush congress have done in 6 years. Of course the verdict's not in yet by a longshot and I hope the Dems follow through with the talk, but at the bare minimum the issues are finally on the table in the public eye thanks to them were before the bush crime family had them buried under the basement floor.

5. There's So Much Muck Awaiting Us In January |

Call this priming the pump.
Repugnicans have made such a mess and have done it under the cover of night...literally passing bills laden with earmarks at 3am to avoid being exposed to any scrutiny. We still don't have a full view of what Hastert, Frist and his cronies have done and just to get a handle on the extent of the damage.
Right now it's putting people in place to be on the ground running in January...ready to get things done and restore the people's house to more of the people. There will need to be revisions of rules, re-establishment of the oversight committees and a lot of "House" cleaning in the months ahead. This will have to be done while trying to move forward an agenda of much needed relief to this nation. It can be the most enlightening times or the most frustrating. I am hopeful of the former, not the later.
