A QUOTE FOR ALL YOU AMAZING PEOPLE - THE BEST |
|
The most courageous....
Who show tenacity in the face of heartbreaking defeat...
To you:
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. Theodore Roosevelt (1858 - 1919)

We certainly need to be reminded of this on this very dark day in Murka.

From Shakespeare's great Henry V, 1599:
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day: then shall our names. Familiar in his mouth as household words Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remember'd; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whilst any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

It needs to be said again:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whilst any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

8. You are all so amazing.... |

I thought I would feel terrible and defeated.
But, you know what?
The most surprising thing - I don't.
I did my absolute best. I worked hard. I did the right thing. And, no matter what happens, I rose to the occassion.
And, so did all of you. I am new around here, but this is where I drew my strength and my inspiration. I know I am not the only fighter.
My father taught me something when I was little that has always stayed with me. He taught me that you can never know what the future may bring. Just when you think all is lost, something happens. We don't know what tomorrow holds.
All I know is karma is absolute.
We did good.

It is, indeed, far better to fit, than just to sit on one's ass and do nothing. Even if a battle is lost, we have to keep fighting.

This is what gets me through...
When I despair, I remember that all throught history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time they may seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it ~ always.- M. Gandi

What we need IMO is the beginnings of a NEW BULL MOOSE party just like TR started up after being so disgusted with pukes that he threw in the puke towel and made up another party *well basically that is the story*. He went to run again for President and lost. But TR was one of the very best damn presidents that AMERICA ever had! :patriot:

Teddy Roosevelt was a great REPUBLICAN president. Why are you quoting him. That is a republican creed!
Don't be a loser. Can't you find a saying from LBJ or Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton?
