Me & the young Republicans.
I've had it. A few days before the election, I had to walk past the young Republicans tent here at my university. I finally figured out what I'm going to do the next time they set up shop:

Hand each of them a military enlistment form. I'm also going to bring a megaphone, and a video camera. want EVERYONE who walks by to see their hypocracy first-hand. I am going to call these cowards out, publicly, and I'd love to make it as humiliating as possible.

Any suggestions for improvements, DU?

3. Take some supporters with you
Otherwise they will try to marginalize you.
Also start up an organization to counter them, and have a sign up sheet with you.

13. Flawed plan
This is not a contest to see which party has the most soldiers serving in Iraq, or who is most willing to enlist (I guess most college Democrats are not preparing themselves to join up).

It's great that so many vets vote Dem. But it shouldn't be the case that vets always get preference, or we will wind up with a Congress full of ex-military men and women. Not very balanced.

The point is to expose the hypocrisy of a bunch of college students who strongly support the Bush-Cheney policy towards Iraq, but not ready to back-up their strong beliefs by enlisting in the military.

Whatever you do - take a video camera and be ready for a strong response. If it gets violent you will need video footage to use as evidence (and share on YouTube!)

7. I've done that at rallies
they become so speechless, the looks on their whiney little faces is precious. Please do the video!

I now carry the forms with me in my car. I have even given it to those who have sons and daughters that are 'busy', too busy to enlist in their war. For some reason they don't expect it, they really believe that they can just talk and no one will ever call them on it.

12. Get some elephant pinatas
And set up a table close to a tree and invite people to pay $1.00 to try to hit the pinata. Have a sign saying all proceeds will be going to the, "Send-A-College-Republican-To-Iraq Foundation."

14. I've been wanting to translate certain phrases into Latin...
"Let's you and him fight," "Others must die for my beliefs," that sort of thing.

I was thinking they'd make great mottos for the 101st Keyboarders, but they'd do just as well for the frat bros of Kappa Delta Chickenhawk...

16. Good for you! If they really believe our way of life is under attack
and our freedoms are in danger and that fighting in Iraq is the antidote, if they are able bodied and of fighting age, they should be there!

It's one thing not to think the war is necessary and to think it is a sham. Shameless republicans call that cowardice, when the real cowardice is actually believing there is a danger and staying here!
