How Come No One Is Talking About Trent Lott Getting A Leadership Position?
If Trent Lott had to step down from his leadership position four years ago because he said he wanted to return to Jim Crow why did the GOPU give him back his leadership position.

1. It;s funny that they gave Steele
and that Martinez guy a job to woo the Mexican and African American votes and than turn around and choose a Klan sympathizer like Lott.

Oh well...apparently they want to keep shooting themselves in the foot.

5. They have limited choices
repukes can't lead, they don't have leaders they follow their buddy in the White House and now that he's not doing well they are lost.

And they like that whole 'forgiveness' thing for themselves.

9. Amazing...
I rather talk about Lott than our internecine wars...

Were the Republicans who made him resign from his leadership post right about him then and wrong now or were they wrong now and right then?

12. Juanita's talking about it:
November 15 - There’s one thing I really admire about the Republicans. They have guts. Or something like it.

First off, they put Trent Lott back in a leadership position. Minority whip. I mean, think about it: Trent Lott in the same sentence as “minority” and “whip”. That’s not good.

Then they want Mel Martinez to be their party leader. Mel ain’t exactly the cleanest guy on earth, you know. And to top it all off, he's under investigation by the FEC for accepting illegal corporate contributions from Tom DeLay's good buddy Bacardi.

To put corruption on the front burner takes guts – or maybe gall.
